With each word you speak
About the trauma of your past,
They always come back to me
Any chance they get.
And it's always horrifying to see. It's clear to see that
You were not made from love.
Rather it was tragedy that
Came for you before you came
For the world. That sadness hung onto you
As you grew up,
Watching what you believe is love
Crumble and break apart,
And in its place were two figures
Fighting more than they should. With each fight came a new scar,
A new fear of other people and
What they could do to hurt you.
When the home wasn't safe,
School was meant to be the opposite.
And that didn't really happen. Each blow made your heart weaker,
It made you more tired and closed,
And as cold as you were, you feared
That you'd never truly find love.
That you would become the
Circumstances that put you on Earth.Time has passed.
You have grown.
You still carry the weight of it all
In your heart, and in your head too.
But it has made you strong.
Even if the sirens in your head call
Out for you to stop, keep going,
Because you have proven to be
Stronger.
