With each turn in my life,
I turn a new page to begin anew.At ten, I was subjected to
Bullying and betrayal
From those I thought
Were in my side.At fourteen, I was caught in
The same position,
But more or less abandoned
By those I held up.
The me from four years before
Would agree:
I needed another change of scenery. At eighteen, at a true turning point,
I continue to march onward in life:
Meeting new people, losing others
By distance or drama,
Expanding my horizons,
And shaping myself from the bottom. When I hit age twenty-two,
I have hope that
A step into the real world,
A world of true independence,
Beyond the condensed independence
In a new school.
And when I create these new pages,
I hope to create the me
I was meant to be
And have a happy ending from such
Tumultuous beginnings.
