Annyeong Chingudeul
I was streaming music videos on my phone when Hui came.
He plopped onto the sofa across me and closed his eyes.
I softened by the sight of my tired brother.
"Mum said she's gonna come home late, so I cooked dinner." I playfully said.
He smiled. "Good thing the kitchen didn't burn."
I pouted at him.
"I have a guest later, he's gonna join us for dinner." he continued.
I just nodded at him when suddenly, my phone rang.
I immediately answered and was greeted by the voice of a familiar person.
[Annyeong Chingudeul!]
I quickly ran upstairs to my room, leaving a confused Hui in the living room.
"Yanan!!!" I screamed as a smile formed on my lips.
"I haven't seen you for so long!" I pouted even though he can't see me. "What's up? Our paths don't meet at school."
[Of course it won't, I'm at China right now.]
"WHAT?" my voice raised.
"Why didn't you tell me?" I frowned.
[It was sudden! I wasn't even prepared.]
"Then let's catch up!"
We talked for an hour telling each other experiences and stuff. I also told him about the mystery guy who messaged me, and he was damn curious who it was.
[Have you tried messaging him over and over? Like, sending continuous messages?]
"Hmm, I haven't. What should I say?"
He paused. [Try sending him numerous Annyeong Chingudeuls]
I laughed, oh Yanan.
[Yah why are you laughing? Try it!]
I tried my best to stop laughing and composed myself.
"Okay I'll try it." I chuckled.
I could imagine Yanan rolling his eyes at me.
"Seorin! Come here and have dinner with us! Hyojong's here." Hui screamed from downstairs.
"I got to go, we're gonna have dinner. Thanks for the time! Let's talk again soon." I told Yanan.
[Okay, bye!]
I ended the phone call and went downstairs. There I saw Hui and Hyojong eating the soup I made.
"Seorin! You made this soup? It tastes awesome!" Hyojong commented.
I smiled widely, proud of my cooking.
I took a seat beside Hui and started eating.
Hyojong is Hui's best friend for years, he often comes to our house to visit my brother. That's why I'm kinda used to his existence here.
Surprisingly, Hui offered to wash the dishes. I proceeded to my room while Hyojong stayed at the living room and watched tv.
Should I send the mystery guy numerous messages? Well, it won't hurt to try.
I followed Yanan's advice, sending him a lot of Annyeong Chingudeuls.
I also sent him a message encouraging him to reveal his identity, when I received a text from Kino.
Kino:
yahhh are you at homeee? I miss youuu :<A smile escaped on my lips. We just saw each other a few hours ago.
I replied if he could come over, and in a few minutes, Hui was screaming again saying that Kino is downstairs.
I shook my head and smiled to myself.
I was tying my hair when Kino barged in and dived on my bed.
"Feel at home, eh?"
"Besides school, this is the second place I mostly go to so I kinda consider this my second home." he grinned.
"Hey you got a message." his eyebrows furrowed. "From, Chingudeul?" he said, unsure.
My eyed widened as I got my phone and read his message.
"I can't."
I frowned and typed why, but was shocked that I can't furthermore send him messages.
It looks like he deactivated.
I sighed heavily which made Kino raise his eyebrows.
"Yah are you ok?" he asked as he hugged me.
I know it's shallow, but I was really curious who he was. And the thought of him deactivating felt like all my hopes were crashed down.
"He deactivated." I paused. "But I'm fine, just disappointed." I forced a smile.
"You know, he's a bit dumb. But don't worry, I know he'll reveal himself someday." he said and hugged me tightly.
I'm really thankful Kino is here.
"Since there are no classes tomorrow, let's bake something for fun." he playfully said.
"Woah, Kino baking? That's new." I joked and chuckled.
He smiled. "See? You're smiling!" he pinched and stretched my cheeks.
"Kino shtap! (stop)"
He laughed and released my cheeks.
"I'm serious though, I wanna bake something!"
I imagined Kino wearing an apron while baking in the kitchen.
Just the thought of it makes me laugh.
"Aish come on Seorin!" he said while shaking my shoulders.
"Okay okay." I let out a laugh.
I opened my laptop and searched for some recipes we can make. We both decided to bake red velvet cupcakes.
I walked him to the door and bid him goodbye.
He hugged me tightly. "Sleep well Seorin."
"Sleep well too, Kino." I smiled softly and closed the door.
I went to my room and dived on my bed, controlling these playful butterflies in my stomach.
Then I closed my eyes and drifted off to sleep.
