Tala and Koda were now faced with an issue. They had to figure out how being a werewolf worked. There were books and stories about werewolves but they didn't know what was true and what was not. It's not like they had a werewolf mentor to ask questions or anything. They had to figure this out together through trial and error, but hopefully with not too many errors.
Tomorrow Tala and Koda had to go back to work on the farm. Koda picked up Tala's work, but couldn't explain to the Howe's why she had left for a week. Tala would have to come up with something tomorrow. Today Tala wanted to see their friends again, so they planned on getting lunch at the coffee shop.
Tala washed her face, brushed her teeth and hair, and put on some mascara and lip gloss. Then she threw on a green cable knit sweater, boots, and a hat. Koda got ready as well, throwing on a chunky sweater, jeans, and boots. They both walked outside towards town, walking closely together to stay warm. The temperature was becoming brisker as late fall drew near.
"My hands are freezing feel them." Tala laughed and placed her hand on Koda's cheek.
"Talaaaa." he laughed and moved her arm.
They approached the coffee shop and Cambria, Hugo, and Astrid looked excitedly through the window.
They walked in and Tala hugged them all. "I missed you guys so much."
They stood in line to order. One of Tala's favorite alternative rock songs was on and she couldn't help but move around to the beat.
"I'm glad you're back." Cambria said as they sat down after ordering. Tala was sad that she couldn't tell any of them why she had left. She had to come up with a random reason. She pondered for a moment.
"I'm glad I'm back too. I feel awful for leaving. I left because.... I was scared. Koda is such a great guy and for a while, I thought he was too good for me, but he found me and brought me home."
Koda held her hand under the table to reassure her.
After they received their food and drinks they dove in excitedly. Cambria took one sip of her drink and twisted her face.
"This is not my caramel macchiato." she groused.
"White girls be like." Astrid laughed.
"Shut up." Cambria rolled her eyes and laughed. "I'm getting my drink fixed." she rose elegantly from the table with her nose in the air and walked to the counter.
"So last night I heard a wolf howling. Which is weird because there haven't been wolves in this area for many years." Astrid mentioned. Tala's gaze became curious.
"Hmmm. How strange." Hugo stated and stood up to tell Cambria that had just switched drinks.
"That is odd." Her and Koda looked at each other. It wasn't either of them, so who was it?
They finished eating and catching up, and Tala and Koda walked briskly out of the coffee shop door. They looked around to see if anyone could hear them, no one was close.
