I don't want to earn my living, I want to live.
~Oscar Wilde.
'What happened to Natalie?' I ask Cass as we head towards the cafeteria.
She shrugs 'Well she went back home after that and I didn't really see her after wards. By the way I think
Vin called at our land-line and tried to console her'Archer scoffs 'What did he say?'
'I don't know the maids said he told her not to worry, something like that. Not that I am interested in what he said to her. Both of them will make a good couple'
'Hurry up I am hungry' I urge them towards the cafeteria.
Cass and I sit at our regular table and Archer goes to the counter for our lunch.
Jane immediately puts on a big smile on seeing us 'I feel like I haven't seen you for ages Isis'
'Not really, I just didn't want to see you'
The end of her mouth twitches. She's trying really hard to keep up that smile.'You know my daddy promised to buy me that new sports car. It's a really expensive car but since my daddy owns the showroom he said he would gift it to me. But I think the style really matches up with Isis's personality, so I think you should have it. What do you think Isis?'
Well buttering doesn't work on me 'Since your daddy gifted it to you, you should keep it. I am not interested in those cheap things'
Cass scoffs 'Jane, her mother would disown her if she owns that car. Your car is nothing but a rock beside a diamond'
Not really my family doesn't have the craze of buying insanely expensive cars. But I'm just gonna go with it.
Archer places our lunch in front of us. Atlast something productive.
'Seriously do they ever sell a good lunch?!'
Cass hits Archer across his head 'Then why did you fill your plate like a pig?!'
He rubs his head 'I'm a growing man! I need food!'
I notice Ernest across from the room. He looks like he doesn't have anyone to sit with. I decide to call him to sit with us and wave my hand towards him.
He notices and comes over to our table.
'Hi' he addresses everyone on the table and they glance towards me for the introduction 'Everyone this is Ernest, Ernest this is....everyone'Lunch is already short, I am not gonna waste it to introduce these dummies.
Cass smiles gently at Ernest 'Hi Ernest, don't mind her. By the way I am sorry for your loss. I heard your mother passed away, I couldn't attend the funeral but my parents attended'
'Oh it's okay'
I scoff 'Isn't it funny how we hated him at first?'
An awkward silence falls over at my comment.Lunch went by easy. Ernest was okay and all the kids went back to discussing about the hot topic which is Natalie.
'You know mid terms are near, did you prepare?' Archer pokes me from his seat.
It was currently Maths and Mr. Harris was busy collecting assignments, which thankfully I had done.'Not really'
'I wonder if Cass prepared for it' Archer wonders.
'Maybe. Why are you so worried?' That's unlike him. He never worries for exams.
'My mother said she will kick me out of the house if I fail'
I smirk 'It's a wonder she still haven't'
