Vin's POV:

A week after our trip it was time for graduation. I haven't heard from any of them over the past week. Not even Jake.

I tried my best to pick up clues or even spy on them but they didn't even make it out of their house.

'We'll be a little late, Rayn's suite came in the wrong size. Did you prepare the speech? Put your tie the right way' mom says peeking through my door.

I sigh at her, the tie is perfectly fine 'What about that suite? It's fine, just make him wear that'

'No no, my son's giving the valedictorian speech how can we just dress up ordinarily? And I heard that that girlfriend of yours is very rich, we have to look nice in front of her' she says coyly.

'Mom! I told you she's not...'

'Ok ok, get ready fast. Belle's waiting for you' she walks away laughing still not believing me.

I quickly collect my bag and race out of the house in order to not run into my father. He always insists on taking pictures and he'll definitely make me late.

As promised Belle was waiting outside my house in her car. Yesterday my mom asked her to drive me because she believes that a valedictorian shouldn't travel by bus.

'Good morning' Belle greets me with her usual preppy smile. She was dressed in a cute yellow sundress which complimented her cheer-y personality.

She's like a dash of sunshine unlike someone I know. I wonder what she would wear on a day like this. Probably something outrageous.

'What are you doing standing there? Come on in'

'Good morning' I sit inside her car and buckle my seatbelt.

'Did you practice your speech?'

'You sound like my mom' I say, to which she giggles along.

Belle is a fun person to be with. She's got the ability to lift up your mood.

'Did you get to talk to Jake?' I ask.

Belle shakes her head 'No, I wonder how he's doing. He'll come for the graduation ceremony right?'

'Probably...'

Jake no longer visits me or picks up my calls. It makes me upset to think about him. We all have been such good friends but it seems like we've been drifting apart.

Which reminds me...'Did you call Quentin?'

'Yeah, he's going with his girlfriend' Belle replies.

I smile 'He did manage to get a girlfriend before graduation'

'Yeah, he always said he would. Good for him. Which reminds me, what about you Vin?'

'What about me?' I ask.

'You had a thing going on with Isis...' she initiates.

'We were not even friends, we had nothing going on'

'That's not what I heard' she raises her eyebrows.

'What did you hear?' So people have been talking about us. But why am I getting so excited?

'Just so and so, nothing important. So is she dating Ernest?'

'No, why would they? Ernest isn't her type'
