To say that hanging out with Juan's friends is incredibly awkward would be an understatement. Considering the way they were all acting towards me, I'm assuming Juan told them about the doubts I was having. I know that Joel notices it too because of when he pulls me into the kitchen.

"What's stuck up all of their asses?" he asks in annoyance. "They're being rude as fuck to you."

I shrug, looking over at all of them. They're all laughing and drinking. "I don't know." I chew on my nail in thought. "I have a feeling Juan told them about me having my doubts."

He shakes his head. "If that Daniella girl makes one more petty comment I'm seriously gonna say something." shooting daggers at her with his eyes, he begins to walk away, towards them.

I shake my head, grabbing his arm and pulling him back. "Don't. You know what? I can't trust you. Just go upstairs or something." I beg.

He shakes his head. "No, they're being so extra for no reason. I'm staying."

I groan. "Please? Oh! He has a movie theater. Go in there."

He rolls his eyes. "Are you sure?"

I nod quickly. "Yes. Go." I gently push him in the direction of the theatre.

"I'll be in there in case you need me for anything." he warns.

I nod shooing him away. "Got it. Byeeee."
I walk back into the living room, not missing the way Daniella rolls her eyes just at the sight of me. I chose to ignore it, taking a seat next to Juan who is in the middle of telling some story.

He pauses, looking over at me with a smile before moving me up onto his lap. "Hey, bonita." he places a kiss on my cheek before continuing with his story.

After about half an hour or so of talking, Juan stands up. "I'll be back. I'm going to the bathroom." I almost ask if it's okay for me to go with.

I'm about to also just flee the scene when Daniella speaks up. I literally have no idea what her problem is. Well, I do know what it is but whatever. I've only talked to the girl a couple of times!

"I always knew you were going to end up hurting him. Using him." she says bluntly, crossing her arms over her chest.

Christian, another one of Juan's friends who at the moment, I like a whole lot better then Daniella shakes his head. "Dani, stop it."

"No. I'm right. You have no idea how much you hurt Juan when you told him you still had feelings for another guy. Do you even love him?" she asks scoffing.

My jaw nearly drops. "Of course I do! What's your problem? What happens between Juan and I is none of your business." I say trying to contain my anger. Remember she's your boyfriends best friend.

"It is my business when you're breaking his heart! Why are you even her—"

Suddenly Juan's voice cuts her off. "Daniella. Que te pasa? I told you that her and I were fine. Why keep bringing it up?" he asks, walking over to us. You can tell by his voice that her talking to me like this is upsetting him.

Her eyes widen slightly. "I just can't keep watching her play with your emotions like this." she exclaims, standing up.

He shakes his head, standing in front of her. "It's not just her who's made mistakes in our relationship. Have you forgotten that we broke up because of that whole kiss thing with somebody else. That was my fault."

"It wasn't you who initiated it though. Besides, she's the one who refused to hear you out. Causing you to be heartbroken for a few weeks." she points out.

I shoot out of my seat. "Hey, you don't know anything about what happened! It's none of your business either. Look, I get that you're Juan's 'Best Friend' or whatever but, what happens between him and I shouldn't concern you." I feel Juan pull me closer to his side. Probably so I don't go all crazy on this bitch. "And we're perfectly fine and happy together right now, so what does it matter what's happened? All that matters is that Juan and I are happy."

She narrows her eyes. "Oh, I just care about his happiness." she says pointing at Juan.

I roll my eyes. "Fine, then all you should care about it that he's happy."

"But I'm not happy because you're still using him."

"Hey," Juan's stern tone makes me stiffen. "Stop using that word! She's not using me. How many times do we have to go over this? Adrianna has never used me. Not once. So stop saying that, because it's not true. You guys are my friends, why can't you just be happy for me? Adrianna has never given you a reason herself for you not to like her. She's an awesome person. But you wouldn't know that because you've never given her a chance to show you what a great person she is." he shakes his head. "Just go."

Daniella opens her mouth to say something but gets cut off by Adrian, also one of Juan's very close friends who as of now has kept completely quiet. "He's right." he looks over at me. "Adrianna, you seem like a super nice girl but you have to understand that from what we hear from the media at times you don't look too good in our eyes." he stands up, patting Juan on the back. "We'll go." nodding he motions for Daniella and Christian to follow.

I give them a forced smile while Juan continues talking. "Yeah, I think that's for the best."

I can tell Daniella wants to say something else but considering he doesn't even acknowledge them as they begin walking past him she keeps quiet. He keeps his eyes focused on the floor until you can hear the door shut. "Fuck, I'm so sorry babe." He turns to me, crushing my body into a hug, wrapping his arms around my neck.

I wrap my arms around his waist. "It's okay, Juan."

He shakes his head, letting me go. "No. It's not." he cups my face, his thumbs caressing my cheeks. "You don't deserve for anybody to speak to you that way."

I smile sadly. "Seriously, it's fine. They're just looking out for you." I shrug.

"I still don't like that Dani talked to you that way. I'm gonna talk to her about it. She needs to apologize." he kisses my forehead. "I love you and I'm not letting anyone disrespect you like that. Not even my best friend."

I smile. "Thanks, Juan. I love you." I cup his face, bringing my lips up to his. I can feel him smiling against my lips. I pull away. "What?"

He chuckles lightly. "Thank you for not going all psycho on her."

I grin. "I know, I tried my best not to. And I was successful!" I say with a laugh.

He shakes his head. "Ugh, are we ever just gonna be able to be happy? Just stress and drama free."

I laugh. "Probably not. It's okay though, as long as we still have each other."
