Almost two weeks later, I'm back in Juan's arms. "Are you ready with your suit?" I ask, giggling as Juan picks me up bridal style and carries me all the way to the couch.
"You know it." he nods, smothering me in kisses once he's trapped me beneath him on the couch.
"Juan the door!" I laugh, trying to get him off of me. He literally walked in not even two minutes ago and didn't even bother to close my front door.
He groans, jogging to the slam and lock the door shut before rushing back to me. "Better?" he asks, towering over me. I laugh, nodding. "Great, let's get back to business." he smiles, pulling his shirt over his head.
~~~
"You didn't even let me say a proper hello before you pounced on me." I roll my eyes, walking down the stairs after Juan and I have gotten out of the shower.
He grabs my waist, twisting me around so that I'm facing him. "Hey, bonita." he smiles down, kissing my lips softly.
I grin against his lips. "That's more like it."
He takes my hand and walks me into the kitchen. "So the wedding rehearsal is tomorrow?" he asks, opening up the fridge. "I'm gonna cook us up some dinner with whatever you have here, if that's okay with you." he asks from over his shoulder.
I nod, squeezing past him to take a few grapes into my hand. "That's fine." I pop a grape into my mouth, hopping onto the island so that I can have a clear view of him beginning our meal. "Yeah, it's tomorrow. I wouldn't have gone to it but Joel convinced me that it's a good opportunity for you guys to talk a bit more before the wedding and it's also a good time for me to actually meet this lady he's marrying."
"Aren't wedding rehearsals for people who are actually playing a part in the wedding? What are we supposed to do there?" he asks, pulling out some chicken from my fridge.
I shrug. "I guess Eduardo told Joel that the actual rehearsal part is going to be pretty short, they're having an intimate party at the venue where the wedding is going to be at after. It's like a bachelor and bachelorette party except they're together."
He turns with a raised eyebrow. "That sounds fancy."
I nod. "I know. I wonder what this lady does for a living because just by the sound of it, this feels like it's going to be a really nice wedding. I highly doubt Eduardo could afford this all on his own while working at that restaurant."
"Hey, that was a really nice place. Probably one of the best in LA, I wouldn't be surprised if they paid really well." he shrugs.
I sigh, jumping off of the island. "Who knows." I walk up behind him and wrap my arms around his waist, kissing his shoulder. "I'll be watching my reality TV while you finish off here."
He chuckles, nodding. "Okay."
~~~
"I'll gladly do the dishes." I lean back in my seat after I've just finished the meal that Juan cooked for us.
He chuckles. "Thanks. So what'd you think?" he asks, taking a sip of his beer.
"I think that if this whole singing career goes down the drain, you should definitely become a cook." I nod.
"I don't know if that's a good thing or bad." he shrugs. "I'll just take it as a compliment."
I laugh. "Go pick a movie for us to watch or something and I'll go watch it with you once I'm done cleaning up here."
He stands, pushing in his chair. "Are you sure you don't want me to help?"
I nod, pushing him out of the kitchen and into the living room. "Yes, I'm sure."
Almost thirty minutes later, I'm excitedly walking out into the living room when I see Juan completely passed out on the couch. I frown, walking over to a basket I have full of blankets, pulling one out, and walking back over to him. I made sure to get the biggest one so that it could cover up the both of us. I cuddle up next to him, and pull out my phone to put something on the TV. "Good night I guess." I kiss his cheek, snuggling into his warm body.
~~~
"I fell asleep last night, didn't I?" Juan asks yawning.
I sit up, nodding. "Mmhm. It's fine. I watched a movie alone." I shrug.
He wraps his arms around my neck, yanking me into his chest, causing a yelp to escape my lips. "I'm sorry, bonita." he plants a sloppy kiss on my cheek.
I laugh loudly, pushing him away. "Ew, Juan. I feel like a dog just licked my cheek." I wipe my cheek off with our blanket.
His jaw drops. "Okay, ouch."
Before I can say anything, my doorbell is rung. "Going!" I turn to look at Juan. "Joel wanted to come get ready over here, it's probably him."
"Hey." I smile, pulling him in for a hug. My eyes widen when I see Mark standing behind him. "Hey! You're coming too?" I ask curiously.
Joel turns to say bye to Mark and my question is answered. He rushes into the apartment and immediately I can hear him and Juan talking loudly. "No, I just came to drop him off. I figured all three of you are going in the same car anyways, so theres no point in him driving over here for nothing." he shrugs. "Can you drop him off once you guys are on your way back?"
I nod, crossing my arms over my chest. "Yeah, sure."
He clears his throat uncomfortably. "Has Oscar called you?" I shake my head. He sighs. "Fuck. I told him he has to apologize, Anna."
I shrug, looking down. "He's gonna apologize when he's ready to. Maybe he doesn't feel like he has to say sorry."
He shakes his head. "No, believe me, he definietly knows he has to apologize. He's known it from the second you left my house crying the way you did. He felt really bad about it, Adrianna."
I nod. "You're the second person to tell me that."
"Huh?"
"It's a long story." I shake my head. "Well, I should get in there before those two turn my apartment upside down." I laugh.
He nods. "Yeah, okay. Tell Juan I say hi."
"You dont want to come in?"
"No, I'm just gonna go. I didn't get any sleep last night, so I'm pretty tired." he nods.
"Okay..well I'll see you later." I say awkwardly, shutting the door slowly. I know there's an awkward vibe going on between us because he probably feels caught in the middle of Oscar and I's fight. The same thing happened when Oscar and I got into our fight after Mom died. He kept talking to the both of us and I know it made him feel bad because he felt as if he had to choose a side.
"Did you bring your clothes?" I ask Joel who's sitting on my couch.
He nods, holding up a bag. "Duh."
I roll my eyes. "Go hang it up or something. It's gonna get all wrinkled up." I shoo him upstairs to the guest room.
Juan gestures for me to take a seat next to him after Joel has dissapeared into the guest room. "How are you feeling?" he asks, kissing my temple.
"Nervous." I admit, sighing.
"It's going to be fine, bonita." he reassures me, pulling me in for a tight hug.
"As long as you're there with me, I know it will be."
