"So what is it like dating Juan?" Hailey asks once I've walked out of the bathroom.
I laugh, looking down at my heels that are already killing me. "It's great. We love each other very much. He makes me really happy." I nod.
"Aww. That's so cute." she looks up at me and smiles shyly. "Can I confess something to you?"
"For sure."
She laughs shaking her head. "Oh god, I'm gonna sound like such a creep." she cringes. "Pretty much since you've been a public figure I've kept up with you. I knew you were Eduardo's daughter, and I wanted to know more about you." she shrugs.
I smile, looking over at her. "That's...kind of sweet." Also kind of creepy, but I wasn't going to tell her that. It was mostly sweet anyway.
"And when I found out you were dating the Maluma, I flipped out." I laugh at the excitement that's clear in her voice. "You're honestly so beautiful, Adrianna. I've always wanted an older sister...it's kind of like I have one now." she smiles at me shyly. "If you don't mind me considering you one." she clarifies quickly when I don't give her a response.
I shake my head, smiling. "N-No. Not at all. It's just-uh, this is all new for me, sorry." I cringe at how awkward I probably just made things. "But hey, it's new for the both of us." I shrug, bumping my shoulder with hers. "Neither of us has a sister, this all new and exciting." I nod.
She smiles. "Yeah, I guess so."
"Is your biological father in your life?" I ask after a few moments of silence.
"Not really. He's been in and out for pretty much all of it." she shrugs. "He's out of it at the moment." she rolls her eyes.
I nod slowly. "Gotcha." I let out a sigh if relief when I see that we're back to where we started. "You wanna come sit at our table?" I ask.
She shakes her head, rolling her eyes. "I have to go say hi to family. I'll try to go to your table before you leave." she smiles.
"Yeah, okay. You know where to find me." I laugh, walking away to the table where Juan is seated alone. "What are you doing all alone? Where is Joel?" I ask, looking around but stopping when I spot him laughing with Angelica and Eduardo.
"Your father took him over there to chat or something." he shrugs.
I frown. "He didn't invite you to go with?"
He shakes his head. "No, he did. But I said I would wait for you because I wanted to ask you to dance." he smiles.
I laugh, shaking my head. "My feet are killing me, Juan." I cup his cheek and kiss him.
"I'll carry you." he offers with a shrug.
"I don't think that's how it works." I laugh.
He groans. "Not even one song?" he pouts.
I laugh, shaking my head. "I promise we'll dance all night tomorrow if you want."
"You better bring comfortable shoes." he warns. "We've never really danced together before."
"Wow." I pull away from him in thought. "You're right."
"I'm not letting you get away from the dance floor on our wedding night. I'm letting you know that right now." he grins, taking my hand and kissing the top of it. I smile, shaking my head. My attention turns to Eduardo who has an arm wrapped around Joel's shoulder as he laughs at something he said. "What are you thinking about?" Juan asks, also looking at Eduardo and Joel now.
"They make a good pair." I shrug, smiling slightly. "Joel hasn't smiled that widely since our Mom passed away. It's refreshing to see." I nod, clearing my throat of the lump that has now formed there.
