It's been about a week since Joel and I met with Eduardo and that whole situation drained me emotionally so badly that I've pretty much been in bed ever since. Juan has tried asking about how it went but it just wasn't anything I wanted to talk about over the phone. I've pretty much stuck to small talk on the phone and over text. If he tried to bring it up I would simply change the subject to something more light hearted.

Thinking about how Eduardo is starting a new family with another woman just hurts a little bit too much for me right now. I hate that I'm letting it affect me, that I'm letting myself go into this dark place, but I can't help it. I'm hurt. I'm munching on some popcorn, sprawled out on my couch, and watching some crappy Netflix original movie when there's a knock on my door. I place the bowl of popcorn on my coffee table as I struggle to get up from my comfy position.

I stand a few inches from the door. "Who is it?" Yeah. I do that now. I realized how unsafe it was for me to just swing the door open and hope that it wasn't some serial killer waiting for me at the other side of the door.

"Juan Luis." my eyes widen at the sound of his sexy Colombian accent.

I swing the door open and launch myself into his arms, probably moving the fastest I have all week. "Juan!" the sound of Juan's bags hitting the floor can be heard when his arms wrap around my waist.

"Hey, bonita." he chuckles, giving me a tight squeeze.

I pull away from him. "Come in, come in." I laugh, turning to him. "What are you doing here, babe?"

He grabs both of my hands in his. "I missed you. And I felt that I had had enough time with my family and away from you, so now I'm here."

I giggle, jumping and wrapping my legs around his torso. Juan chuckles, placing his hands on my bum. "I didn't expect you to be this happy to see me, mi amor." he walks us over to the nearest thing around him which is my kitchen island. He sets me down on it gently. "This is better." he grins, cupping my cheeks in his large hands, pressing his lips against mine.

I smile, wrapping my arms around his neck, deepening the kiss. I run my hands up his shirt, feeling this dips of his abs underneath my fingertips. I practically cry when he pulls back. He rests his hands on the sides of my thighs. "How are you? How did Joel meeting Eduardo go?"

I groan, resting my head on his shoulder. "No, no, no. Juan you have no idea how much I've needed you these past few weeks." I look up and cup his face. "Can we just not ruin the moment? I just want want to be here. With you. Enjoying the moment."

He shakes his head. "I cant enjoy anything until I know that you're okay. I've been worried all week, bonita."

I groan, roll my eyes, and hop off of the island. "Fine. Let's talk." I grab his hand and drag us to my couch before plopping down on it. I look down and begin to pull at the strings of my hoodie.

"You know I just want to make sure you're okay, right? I don't mean to be one of those annoying boyfriends who has to know everything that's going through their girlfriends head." he lifts my chin up and places a soft kiss on my lips.

I nod, bringing him in for another kiss. "No, I know Juan. I just...it's hard for me to talk about Eduardo, you know that."

"Mmhm. And that's why I'm here." he takes my hand in his and brings it up to his lips, kissing the top of it. "Talk to me, bonita."

I let out a sigh, leaning back on my seat. "He's engaged."

Juan's eyes widen. "Who is? Eduardo?" I nod. "Woah. How did you find that out?" he leans in, clearly already invested in the story.

"I saw a couple pictures of him and this lady. I asked who it was and he told me it was his fiancé, that he was moving into her place in a few weeks." I gulp nervously. "She has kids, Juan. He has a whole new family now."

He clears his throat nervously. "D-Does Joel know?"

"I don't know." I shrug. "Joel was in another room when Eduardo told me. And considering he didn't bring any of it up to me, I don't think he knows anything."

I look, down, twiddling my fingers. I feel Juan's chin on my shoulder. "And how do you feel? That he's engaged."

I turn my head to see his big brown eyes looking up at me, listening intently. "It sucks." I answer bluntly. "I mean it just doesn't make sense to me. How could he leave a family and go start another one with some kids who aren't even his?"

He kisses my shoulder. "I don't exactly know how to put it, but those kids probably feel like his own now."

I sigh, nodding. "Yeah, I know. I just can't make it make sense, you know? Like how can someone leave their own flesh and blood and then just go to start another family?"

He nods, kissing my cheeks once more before taking his chin off my shoulder. "Do you know how long they've been together? I mean, maybe this is something relatively new. Maybe he barely knows those kids." he asks, turning his body so that he's facing me.

I shrug. "I don't know how long they've been together. There was this one picture though, it was just him and the woman, it looked like an old picture Juan, at least ten years old. Then there was a more recent looking one, with both of her kids. They looked a lot older then they did in the first picture I told you about."

"Are you going to tell Joel?"

"Yeah, I think he should know. On the car ride home he seemed pretty happy with the way things went with Eduardo. I wouldn't be surprised if he wanted to see him again." I sigh, pulling my legs up to my chest, and wrapping my arms around them. "I just don't want him to get hurt Juan. What if Eduardo gets married and decides that he doesn't need Joel in his life anymore now that he has a family? That would crush him." I groan, resting my forehead on my arms.

He nudges me, causing me to look up. "But he would be fine. Because he knows he has you guys. I mean, yeah, he might be hurt for a little bit but he would get over it because he knows he has you guys." he nods, tucking a strand of loose hair behind my ear. "Adrianna, he's never needed that man, why would he start now? He'll be fine, don't worry about him too much. He's seventeen, I'm sure he can handle a little heartbreak. And that's a worse case scenario, you don't even know what's to come in the future."

I smile, nodding, feeling a thousand pounds lifted off of my shoulders. "You're right." he wraps his arm around my shoulders, pulling me into his side. "He mentioned you, you know."

"Seriously? What did he say?"

I roll my eyes, remembering the conversation. "He just wanted to apologize to me for everything that happened when we saw him at the restaurant. He said he would want to make it up to you in person. I told him no."

I look up at him when he keeps quiet. He looks down at me. "I would be okay with seeing him again. If that's what you want."

I shake my head. "No, it's okay babe. You don't have to do that for me. I'm perfectly fine with you not being around him." I snuggle closer into him.

He nods. "Yeah, okay. But just know that if you ever change your mind, I would be fine with talking to him."

I look up at him and shake my head. "I won't. Believe me, I don't want him being involved in my personal life whatsoever."

We sit in silence for a few minutes before Juan grabs my body and pulls me on top of him. He smashes his lips against mine. I grin, pulling back. "Nope. You ruined the moment." I get off of him. "I'll be in the shower, feel free to make yourself at home."

"Seriously?" I hear Juan whine as I make my way up the stairs.

I giggle, shaking my head. God I missed him.
