You see Brin headed back toward the bar. You stand and pull her aside to sit with you.

"I think I just saw him." Brin raises her eyebrows and takes the last sip of her drink. You shake your head at her and her brows furrow. You look hard at her and her eyes widen.

"But why would he be here? There are much better clubs he could be at."

"Right." Brin looks out over the sea of bodies bobbing and weaving her head to look through the crowd. She looks back at you clinks her glass on yours and smiles. "It doesn't matte . Those men don't matter, now's not the time to think about wedding planning or work, tonight is time for you to relax." She takes you by the hand and pulls you to your feet. "Come, lemme get you another drink." Brin pulls you up to the bar and orders two of some fruity exotic looking drink with a strawberries and sugar on the rim of the glasses. She raises her's, you follow suit and raise yours and then take a sip. After a few you make you way out on the dance floor and feed of your bestfriend's positive energy as 'dancy' songs play.

As the night plays out around you, the amount of people in the club slowly decreases and so does the number in your group. Michelle walks over to you, gives you a hug and then whispers that she's partied out and takes off. About an hour after that, Ava claims that she has errands to run tomorrow that she needs to be up early for then she leaves. Camille only lasts about twenty minutes afterward saying that she promised her kids she'd take them out tomorrow. She gives you a squeeze and looks into your eyes.

"Don't worry about work or wedding planning or anything else. All you need to focus on is how you feel then you'll know what to do." She gives you another hug and you wrap your arms around her and thank her. She smiles and then takes her leave. After the song that's playing ends Paloma pulls you over to your group's table.

"I know this impromptu night out has to have something behind it. What's up?" Paloma asks setting her drink down. She angles her body toward you.

"There's too much going on," you say setting you empty glass down. You give her the short, -only some details version-. Instead of one of her usual colorful responses, she rests on hand over yours. "I remember what you were like back in the day and I can say you have changed but the you I've know since high school is still very much here; she's just more mature now. You'll figure this out, I know you will."

"Yeah, I hope so," you reply.

"I know this might now help but I know I have to say it." You nod. "I know that it was years ago and we all were just barely adults but, I knew when I looked at you and him...there was something genuine between you two. It wasn't that young petty type of love, it was real. I could see it in your eyes." She gives your hand a squeeze. "Anyway sorry for laying that on you." You shake your head. She wraps her arms around you and her jab her in her side. She laughs and jabs you back.

"You headin' out too?"

"Yeah," she nods. "I have a flight for an overseas shoot tomorrow afternoon. If I head back now I'll be just about sober by the time I have to be at the airport."

"Just about?" you chuckle.

"Just about," Paloma repeats. She turns and waves as she walks away leaving just you Brin and Rylee. Another hour passes, and both Brin and Rylee tap out of your girls night. Brin leaves last and attempt to coax you into leaving with her but you decline and decide to stay at the bar. She assures you she's just a call away if you need her or if you need someone to pick you up. You assure her that you're alright and agree to call if anything happens. You decide to spend most of the remainder of the night at the table your group chose when you arrived nursing one last drink. You have just about half left when you make you way back over to the bar to return the glass. You take a seat on one of the stools and turn to face the packed dance floor. With your glass empty you set it down and chat up the bartender a bit. Just as she walks away to tend to other customers you see the shadow of someone glide past you. The person turns back and takes a seat next to you at the bar. The curls are a dead give away.
