Two weeks after the Asher incident...

"Y/N, babe, please call me back. I miss you. I don't know what I did but I'll explain," Asher's voicemail messages. You roll your eyes and clear them of the tears that has collected there. You settle back into your couch with your throw blanket and have another sip of wine. You set the glass back on your coffee table but before you can draw your hand back, you phone sounds. You begrudgingly grab your phone and look to find that it's Paloma calling. You press it to your ear.

"Hey hun," she says softly.

"Hey." You have another slip of wine.

"I don't wanna ask but I wanna know. How are you holding up?"

"He's sent tons of texts, called at least forty times and has left a shit-ton of voicemails but I haven't replied or spoken to him at all for that matter." You have another bite of cake and set the plate back on the coffee table.

"That's not what I asked you. How are you feeling about this whole thing?"

"I don't love him anymore, I know I don't but---I can't believe he did this to me. We weren't perfect together but we were good, solid, you know? I knew I'd always make more money than him but he seemed alright with it. He gave me my space, I gave him his. We spent quality time together. I thought I knew him. He proposed to me. I---"

"I know, I know but he wasted the opportunity he had to be with you. You're an incredible woman. You intelligent, resourceful and beautiful. You're a great friend and a wonderful person. I've known you long enough to know that any man would be more than lucky---they would be blessed to have you. Don't sweat and think about him. All you need to focus on is how you feel and how you're going to move on from this. I'm here for you; I know the girls are here for you too. Let me know if you need anything. I don't have any upcoming shoots so I'll be around if you need," Paloma says.

"Thanks. I just---I know what happened. I saw it, you showed it to me but my brain, its like I don't want to accept it."

"Take as much time as you need hun," she replies. "I'm available to talk whenever you need, just text first."

"I will."

After a few more minutes of speaking you let Paloma get off the phone. You finish your wine and dessert and then you going through your skincare routine and head off to bed. Of late, you have been having trouble sleeping and instead of just drifting off while you mentally plan you day, you opt for some ASMR to occupy your mind. Within fifteen minutes you drift off to sleep listening to sounds of waves crashing against a tropical shore.

______________

You wake to your usual alarm and assume your morning routine with one of your many Spotify playlists in the background. Today you choose an outfit that's at little 'high-fashion' to give yourself a confidence boost. Your outfit is comprised of black booties with gold accents, black regular fit jeans, a white collared shirt with the top two buttons undone and a patterned blazer. For your hair, you define your natural curls with your usual products and draw it all back in a low ponytail. You go for a light makeup look, a nude lip and then a pair of sunglasses just to top it off. You pull two little curls from alongside your ears to frame your face and lastly your grab a lightweight bag that can fit your essentials plus your laptop and charger. Instead of making breakfast, you opt for a cup of coffee at the usual place you rush to when you're late but your head there early instead. Once you've had your coffee and one of the sandwiches you usually choose, you head into work and settle in.

Once you set your purse down, you greet your coworkers and start looking over the work that you have to complete. You make a quick list, choose one of the 'made for you' playlists on Spotify and hook it up to your wireless Bluetooth headphones. You crack your neck then your fingers and get to it. You input the information from the most recent past projects into your computer, then your organize it all and then send an email to your supervisor stating that you've completed it. You move onto your next task and take them on one after another until you are down to just organizing information again. Instead of pushing through lunch, you opt to head out and buy something and bring it back to have in your floor's break room. As you do some of your coworkers join you and engage in conversation about everything from office gossip to what's going on the world. At the end of the day you head to the supermarket and pick up a few items and then head home. As you step inside, you trade your booties for slippers, set your keys down and leave your coat on one of the hooks by the door. You put your groceries away then head to your bedroom where you quickly shower then throw on some sweats and tie your hair up.
