i'm tearing all my seams
asunder
and I'm a little terrified of what's bleeding out
iridescent hues of running water
i wish i could have seen you coming
you shocking burst of evening sunlight
i might have swallowed darkened and heavy stones
to settle the air you lift in there
(i didn't know aching could be beautiful)
i might have tried to drown it out
but it hurts in a way unfamiliar
it hurts in a way that says "this is not pain"
(i didn't know aching could be this beautiful)
