on sun-blessed skin
give me olive tone on summer evenings
i have a thirst for that drowning green
like sunflower stalks in the rising
dusk
i want heavy earth; brown dampened with beads of moisture
like the glistening of your lips-graced temples
do you feel me here
in sunflower fields?
i feel you in the breeze rustled rows
i feel you in the clearing; bronze and ignited by the aging sun
you remind me of summer's husky end
and i want to lay with you in sunflower fields
