you remind me of yellow
blues and greens and browns
riverbeds i walked through as a child
you give me that same sinking feeling-
then you burst with yellow
sunlight
or sunflower fields
or golden life
i got a little too used to
seeing that light
drawing it in designs with my fingers
on your wrists
breathing in yellow with lips
on shoulders
and i opened just enough
to let the black flood in
as soon as you pulled away-
you remind me of yellow
i forgot to be more careful
and now i feel your riverbeds
i am sinking
into
