i want to see you in pretty places
in warm summer lakes
in cold fog on winter mornings
i want to see you in the neon glow of wet autumn nights
i want to see you thirsty for skin
and hungry for living
i want to see your childhood room
where you first learned who you are
i want to see you still learningi want to see you in pretty places
laughing in the passenger seat of my car
or nervously learning how to drive stick
in an empty parking lot surrounded by
evergreen trees
i want to see you with water in your hair
sand on your feet
i want to see you kissed by the desert sun
and framed by brilliant canyon walls and
cactus life
god, I think you'd glow like that
and I want to see you on city streets
concrete corners and graffitied storefronts-
your favorite placesi'll take you there- all the pretty places
