Chapter 15

**Jenny's POV**

I was at home sitting on the couch. It was the evening and Sophie had finished her homework. Somehow Todd had also finished his shift for the day and so the three of us were sitting together watching a movie.

Suddenly, Sophie jumped off the couch and ran. As she ran she screamed.

"Daddy." She cried happily. I turned around to face her and saw her running into Jethro's open arms.

**Gibbs' POV**

As soon as we landed, I went straight to Jenny's house. I silently opened the door with my key. Jenny, Sophie and a man I didn't recognise from the back were sitting watching a movie or something.

Sophie spotted me and ran towards me. I put my bag down and opened out my arms. She cried daddy happily as she ran into my arms.

"I've missed you so much baby girl." I told her and held her tightly.

"I've missed you too daddy." She told me. I kissed the top of her head.

In the cab on the way over, SecNav called to say that I could tell my family, including the team, that it was an undercover operation.

"It was an undercover op. That's why I didn't come back after five months." I told Sophie and Jen who had now turned to face us. I now recognised the man sitting beside her. Todd. My doctor.

"Why wasn't I read in? I'm the director?" Jen asked me.

"It was above your head. I wasn't allowed to tell you. Orders came straight from SecNav." I told her.

"Was it the type of op we were on?"

I nodded. I knew what her questions were going to be and I was going to answer them truthfully and pray that she forgave me.

"Was it the same type of relationship?"

Again I nodded.

"Did you do what we used to do?"

"Not with the agent I was with, but someone else." I told her. Hurt and betrayal flashed across her face.

"Was it part of the op? Did you have to do it?"

I shook my head no.

"Hello Jethro." Todd said when Jen didn't say anything.

"What are you doing here Doc?" I asked him.

I couldn't go over to them because Sophie was still hugging me tightly and I was hugging her back.

"Jenny and I are in a relationship. I moved in six months ago." Todd told me.

Now it was my turn. My face flashed with hurt and betrayal.

"Todd, can you take Sophie out for a drive or something?" Jenny asked Todd. I didn't want the man spending time with my daughter but at the same time I needed to speak to Jenny alone.

"Sure. Sophie shall we go out for ice cream?" Todd asked Sophie.

"No. I want to stay with my daddy." She said.

"Princess, go with Todd. You can see me when you get back and if not then tomorrow okay baby girl?" I asked her.

She nodded into my chest and finally let go of me.

"I'll see you when I get back daddy. I'll bring you back some cookies and cream ice cream." She said before putting on her shoes and leaving with Todd.

"I'm not getting back together with you Jethro." Jen told me.

"So what? You're just gonna live here with my daughter and Todd and pretend I don't exist? Did you not see her just now? She loves me Jen. You might not love me anymore but my daughter loves me and I'm not letting you and some other guy take her from me." I told her.
