It All Began In Paris

Chapter 5

**Gibbs' POV**

"Dad, do it quick. I want a baby brother or sister soon." Sophie told me.

I was shocked and didn't quite know what to say. Luckily Jen saved me.

"What's up you two?" Jen said, appearing behind me.

"I was just telling dad that I want a baby brother or sister soon." Sophie told Jen.

"Um sweetheart, I'm not sure if you're ever gonna be getting a baby brother or sister, let alone if you're gonna have a baby brother or sister soon." Jen told Sophie.

"But Jen, why can't she have a baby brother or sister?" I asked Jen.

"Honey, can you go down to Abby for a bit please?" Jen asked Sophie. Sophie nodded and skipped off to the elevator.

"Jethro, she's not gonna have a baby brother or sister." Jen simply stated to me.

"Why not Jen?" I asked her.

"Because we're not together or anything. So if we're not together then how is she gonna get a brother or sister? We're not in a serious relationship."

"But we are Jen. I love you so much."

"I know, and I love you too but we're not in the right place for this. It's a big step and we're not ready."

"Jen I wanted to surprise you but I guess I'll sorta have to tell you now so that you know where I want us to go. You, me and Sophie are gonna go on a trip to Paris, and when we come back you'll hopefully be the future Mrs Jenny Gibbs."

"Yes Jethro. A thousand times yes." She whispered as the tears streamed down her face.

"So just remember to say that when I ask you in Paris yeah sweetheart?" I said with a grin.

Jen nodded and I held her tightly.

"So are we in the right place? Are we ready?" I asked Jen.

"You can never be ready to have a child, but yeah. Let's do it. I wanna raise a kid with you Jethro."

"You wanna have a go at making a baby now?" I asked Jen.

"Not right now. Right now we need to go and interrogate this SOB and put him away so that he can't hurt our daughter ever again."

"Sounds like an amazing plan Jen."

I went into interrogation on my own. Jenny went into observation and watched. Once I was done she would come in an it would be her turn.

The interrogation went smoothly. We both had the chance to question Mr Smith before he was put in jail.

We finished the interrogation and went up to Jenny's office. Sophie had gone out for an ice cream with Tony and Ziva.

"You and Sophie are getting on alright?" Jenny asked me.

"Pretty great. It's almost as if we're father and daughter." I joked.
