FOUR WEEKS LATER...

**Jacqueline's POV**

I was sitting in the bathroom with a timer, waiting for the results of my pregnancy test. My period was three weeks late.

The timer went off.

"You want me to check?" Sophie asked me.

I nodded. I had no clue what I wanted the result to be. I had always wanted a child but at the same time, I knew that Jethro was the father of this hypothetical baby and I knew that he wasn't going to be in this child's life.

"I'm getting a baby brother or sister!" Sophie screamed happily.

"It's positive?" I asked for clarification.

"Sure is. How you feeling?"

"I don't know. Your father won't want to be in this baby's life and I don't know if I can do this alone."

"You're not alone mom. I'm right here. I always will be." Sophie reassured me.

"This child needs a father. I can't do this as a single parent."

"Tell my dad."

I shook my head profusely.

"No. I'm not telling him. I'm never telling him. He won't want to raise this child anyway." I said and a tear streamed down my face.

"You don't know that until you ask him."

"I'll see." I told her.

**Jake's POV**

I was sitting with dad watching the soccer game when my phone went off. I left the room to answer it. Caller ID said it was ex girlfriend. We had broken up because she was leaving the US and moving to England. There were no hard feelings between us.

"Hey Rosie! How are you?" I asked her with a smile.

"What uni are you going to?" She asked me without saying anything else.

"Boston. Why?"

"Me too!" She yelled down the phone. I beamed widely.

"You serious?" I asked her.

"Sure am. I'm so excited. I can't wait."

"Neither can I. When are you coming back to the US?" I asked her.

"Got here last night. I'm in DC." She told me.

"Meet me at our place." I told her.

"See you in half an hour."

I was now changed. I couldn't wait to see Rosie. I was so excited to see her.

"Who called?" Dad asked me as I made my way downstairs.

"Rosie." I told him.

"Your ex Rosie? What did she want?" Dad questioned.

"She got in to Boston. We're gonna be at the same uni. And she's in town. I'm meeting her at our coffee shop we always went to."

"What about Sophie?" Dad said with a frown.

I had forgotten all about her. I was supposed to be meeting her this afternoon.

"I'll call and cancel. She'll understand." I said.

"You gonna tell her the truth?"

"I will when I see her in person."
