It All Began In Paris

Chapter 2

**Sophie's POV**

Abby's phone started ringing and so she answered it.

"Yeah sure. I'll send her up now." Abby said and hung up the phone.

"That was your mom. She wants to see you in her office now." Abby told me.

"Okay thanks." I said and left her lab.

When I got to my mom's office I went in without knocking. She wasn't in there alone. She was with my dad.

"Hello special agent Gibbs." I said with a smile.

"Just call me Gibbs." He replied.

"Okay then Gibbs. What are you doing up here?"

"Oh I came to ask your cousin for some time off because I'm getting married."

Wait what?! Dad's getting married!

I looked over at mom who just shook her head. I could see in her eyes that this was hurting her. I knew how much she loved my dad and anyone could see how this was killing her. You could see tears forming in her eyes.

"Congratulations. You wanted to see me Jen." I called her Jen just to see what my dad's reaction would be.

"Hey. Only I'm allowed to call her Jen. You stick to Jenny." My dad said possessively.

My mom looked so happy hearing the possessiveness in his voice.

"Um yeah. Agent Gibbs is going to be spending the night at our house tonight." My mom said.

"Not just tonight. I'll be staying for a couple of days." My dad said. He obviously hadn't told my mom because she looked really shocked but happy.

"Why?" I asked.

"Because agent Gibbs is convinced that I can't handle being protection detail on my own."

"I know you can handle it but it's against protocol." My dad said to my mom.

"Okay that's fine with me." I said.

"Okay good. We'll be leaving in a few hours." Mom said.

"Gibbs is it okay if I talk to Jenny on my own?" I asked dad.

"Um sure. I'll be down in the bullpen. Let me know when you're ready to go." He said to mom.

Once he left I sat down in the same place where he was sitting.

"Hey don't sit there." Mom said.

"Okay then. Where do you want me to sit?"

"Anywhere but there."

"Oh I get it. It's dad's chair." I said with a smirk.

"Just be quiet."

"So he's getting married. Have you met the woman that's going to be my step mom?"

"Um yeah. She works for Army CID. Everyone else likes her but I can't stand her."

"It's because you're jealous."

"I'm not jealous."

"Yeah you are. I saw your eyes when he told me he was married. It's killing you. Don't lie to me mom. I can tell it's eating you up inside. You need to tell him. You don't have to tell him about me but you need to tell him about your feelings before he gets married."

"He doesn't like me Sophie."

"Oh really? 'Only I'm allowed to call her Jen. You stick to Jenny' was what he said if I remember."
