"Elissa? What are you doing walking down my street?" she heard someone's voice calling her.

She looked around and saw the same boy she was talking to at lunch earlier that day, standing in his yard. "Nothing...I'm just..." she started.

"Are you running away?" he ran over to her, and put his hands on her shoulders. "Why would you possibly want to do that?" he asked, shaking her slightly.

"Like I said before, it's my problems," she sighed, pulling away from him shaking her.

"I don't care if it's your problems. All I know is that something must be very wrong at your house, since you're running away. Now tell me what's wrong!" he demanded.

"No! I told you that it's my problems. I'm the one who has to get over them by myself!" She started turning around, and went to run off, but he grabbed her wrist.

I'm here for you, remember?" He loosened his grip on her. "Come inside, and tell me what is so wrong at your house, please," he pleaded.

She looked at him, a little confused. "I don't see why you care so much. No one else does," she told him.

"But I'm not like everyone else. I want to help you out, if you would just give me the chance." He let go of her wrist, and put out his hand for her to take. "Please let me help you."

Elissa looked at his hand, then up at his face, into his eyes. "I still don't get why you care so much. I'm no one for you to care about." She thought a moment, and took his hand.

"Thanks for trusting me," he smiled.

"Yeah, whatever..." she sighed.

He lead her into his house, and he took her up the stairs that were to the right of the door, as you came in. "Mom, I have someone over!" he yelled.

"Okay, dear. Just don't get too rowdy or anything, and don't being playing basketball in the house anymore!" his mom warned.

"Mom, it's not one of the guys," he explained.

"Oh." She came out of a doorway that leads to the kitchen. "Who is she, then?" she asked him, as he was going up the stairs to his room.

"I'll introduce you to her later," he sighed, still leading Elissa up to his room.

"Rae Gilbert Irving!" his mother yelled at him, and stood there with her hands on her hips.

"I hate it when she uses my whole name..." he sighed.

"Introduce me to her, at once!" she demanded.

"Fine...Elissa, mom. Mom, Elissa. Can we go now?" he pleaded.

"Nice to meet you, Elissa," she said with a smile. "Yes, you and your girlfriend may go now."

"Wait...what?! Mom, she is not my girlfriend!" he said, getting a little worked up.

"Sure, dear," his mother said, walking back into the kitchen.

Elissa looked at Rae, and saw that his face was a little red. "I didn't think guys like you blushed," Elissa said, laughing a little.

"I'm not blushing!!!" he said, as he started heading back towards his room.

Elissa rolled her eyes, and followed. She walked into his room, and sat down on what she thought was the bed.

"Sorry, my room's messy," he said, stating the obvious.

"It's all right," Elissa said, actually feeling pretty comfy where she was, even if it wasn't the bed.
