"I can't believe you actually rearranged everything by yourself! The nerve of your dad! If he ever even thinks about..." Rae started.

"Rae," Elissa smiled.

"I'm sorry...it's just that I can't believe he did that to you! I can't believe all of the things he has done to you! I mean, no one can be that heartless, can they?" Rae asked.

"Well, I guess so, since my dad's that heartless. After what he did to me, I just wonder how many people are out there that are like that..." Elissa said.

"Yeah, well, at least you won't have to run into anyone else like that by yourself," Rae comforted.

Elissa smiled, and was about to say something when Rae's mom came in the door.

"You two may not want to stay up too late tonight, and I know that it's Friday night, but you need to get some sleep. Remember we were going to get you some more school clothes tomorrow, Rae," she said.

"I know, Mom," Rae sighed.

"Okay, then, goodnight you two!" Rae's mom told them. She came over to Rae, and kissed him goodnight. "Goodnight, Elissa," she smiled at her.

"Goodnight, Mrs. Irving," Elissa said, getting up. "Um, Rae?" Elissa started.

"What is it?" Rae asked her.

"I was wondering if I could maybe sleep in your other brother's room," Elissa hinted.

"Sure, why?" Rae asked.

"The bed I slept in last night was...well, a bit hard..." Elissa sighed.

Rae laughed, and said, "Sure, if you can manage to get to his bed."

Elissa smiled, and said, "I seriously doubt it could be that bad!"

"Just wait until you see it for yourself," Rae said. He got up, and led Elissa down the hall in the opposite direction. "Here's my other brother, Matt's, room," he said, opening the door.

Elissa's jaw dropped when she saw the room. "I didn't think a room could be this messy!" she exclaimed.

Rae laughed, "I told you!"

"I guess I'll try to reach it...I really don't want to sleep on that hard bed again!" Elissa said, making her way to the bed. She tripped over a lot of things, but finally made it there. She sat down on the bed, and sighed. "See, I made it!" Elissa laughed.

"You're one of the only ones!" Rae laughed along with her.

"Who was the other one?"

"My brother," Rae answered. "Want me to just throw you your bag of stuff?"

"Yeah, that'll be better," Elissa sighed.

"Wait, why don't you check out his bed first, and make sure it's suitable for your elegant tastes?" Rae said, making fun of her.

Elissa grabbed a pillow, and threw it at him, while she laughed, "Okay, why not?" She laid back on the bed, and got sucked into it. "Wow! It's perfect!" She felt the comfy mattress, and grabbed a pillow to put underneath her head. "I think I'll just sleep here!" she joked, yawning and stretching while she said it.

Rae grabbed her bag of clothes and stuff, and tossed it onto the bed, next to her. "Now, don't be expecting me to come and wake you up in the morning!" Rae joked.

"I wasn't planning on it!" Elissa said with a smile.

Rae stood at the opening of the door for a little bit, when Elissa asked, "Uh, Rae, are you planning on leaving anytime soon?"

"Oh, uh, yeah, sorry!" Rae said, closing the door, and starting to walk away.

Elissa grabbed her bag of clothes, and started heading for the bathroom, when she heard a knock on her door. "Rae? Is that you again?"

"Uh, yeah...is it all right if I open up the door, or are you changing right now?" he asked through the door.

"Oh, you can come i--..." Elissa stopped suddenly, and Rae heard a boom coming from in the room.

Rae busted open the door, and saw Elissa sitting up from falling to the ground, rubbing her head.

"Ow..." Elissa groaned.

"Elissa, are you okay?" Rae said, trying his best to get over to her.

"Yeah, I'm all right," Elissa said, still rubbing her head. "I hit my head on the wall..." she groaned again.

Rae finally made it to her side, and felt on top of her head where she had hit it. "You have a pretty big bump there..." Rae said, stating the obvious.

"Ow! Don't touch it, it hurts!" Elissa said, hitting his hand away.

"Sorry...I didn't mean to hurt you," Rae apologized.

"It's all right, I figured you would have known better though," Elissa sighed. She shakily stood up, and grabbed her bag that had gone flying out of her hand. "So, what did you need?"

"Oh, uh...I forgot..." Rae denied. "But, since I'm here, then I might as well go ahead, and tell you goodnight," he laughed.

"Okay, goodnight!" Elissa smiled.

Rae leaned over and hugged her. "Goodnight, Elissa." In his mind he was thinking, "Should I...or not...? I probably shouldn't...I don't want...to mess things up with her..."

Elissa hugged him back, and repeated, "Goodnight, Rae, and sweet dreams."

When Rae started pulling back from the hug, he smiled at her, and turned to walk away.

Elissa suddenly leaned over, and kissed his cheek, then rushed into the bathroom, and shut the door.

Rae just stood there for a little while, and then smiled. "I guess it wouldn't have messed anything up between me and her...if I kissed her..."
