Rae laughed, and said, "The other door over there," he pointed to the door on the other side of the room, "leads to the bathroom."

"So your brother gets his own bathroom?" Elissa asked.

"Unfortunately, both my brothers do, and I don't," Rae sighed.

"Why not?" Elissa asked.

"Because I'm the youngest," Rae rolled his eyes, and started walking out of the room.

Elissa took a look in the bathroom, and then turned off the light switch, and followed Rae back to his room. "Are you sure I wont be any trouble to you?" Elissa asked Rae, just to make sure.

"It's fine, I promise." Rae smiled at her. "Besides, where else would you stay?"

"Yeah, I guess you're right..." Elissa sighed. "There isn't any other place I can think of where I would be able to stay..."

"It's all right. At least you're here, where I know you're safe," Rae smiled.

Elissa smiled back at him, and went back into his room.

Rae was about to go inside too, when his mom said, "Rae, you do realize that you have school tomorrow, right?"

"Yes, mom," Rae sighed.

"Don't you think you and Elissa should get some sleep?" she suggested.

Rae sighed, and pleaded, "Do we have to go to sleep right now?"

Rae's mom looked at him, and said, "Rae..."

"Okay, I get it. We'll go to bed now..." Rae sighed, and entered his room. "Elissa?" Rae started.

"Hm? What is it, Rae?" Elissa said, turning around from looking out of his window in his room.

"We have to go to bed now," Rae sighed.

"Aw...we have to?" Elissa pouted.

"Yeah, we have to. You probably need some sleep though," Rae offered.

"Why would you say that?" Elissa asked.

"Because you haven't gotten too much sleep here lately...with what all has been going on with your dad," Rae explained.

"I'm used to not getting that much sleep. If I go to sleep now, then I'll probably be wide awake at two in the morning," Elissa explains.

"Well, if you do wake up that early, you know where my room is," Rae smiled.

Elissa smiled back at him, and said, "Thanks."

"Okay, lights off, you two," Mrs. Irving said, knocking on the door.

"All right, Mom..." Rae sighed.

Elissa stood up, and started walking towards the door.

"Elissa...good night, and sweet dreams," Rae said, as she went out of his room, shutting the door behind her.

When she got outside, she smiled to herself, and started walking towards her room.

Rae's mom smiled at her, and once Elissa went inside her room, she knocked on Rae's door. "Can I come in, sweetie?"

"Yeah, Mom," Rae mumbled.

She walked in, and saw Rae taking off his shirt, getting ready for bed. "I need to talk to you about something," she said, sitting down on his bed, motioning for him to sit down next to her.

Rae walked over to her, and sat down on the bed. "What is it, Mom?"

"Listen, I had a very interesting talk with Elissa not too long ago," she started.

"So she did do something else besides go to the bathroom!" Rae said.

"I guess so..." she said, not sure what he was talking about. "Well, she came into the Living Room, and she asked me if you had a girlfriend."

"She...did?" Rae was confused.

"Yes, she did. Then I told her that you didn't, at least not that knew of. So, do you have a girlfriend? Or is that the reason why you were so defensive when I called Elissa your girlfriend?"

No, I don't have a girlfriend. What did she say after you told her that?" Rae demanded.

"She didn't really say anything. She just smiled at me, and said, 'Thank you, Mrs. Irving!', and she ran off, and did something, and then went back to your room," she explained to him.

Suddenly, they heard a knock on the door. It startled Rae, and he jumped a little. Then Rae got up to go answer the door.

"You might want to put your shirt back on," Rae's mom whispered.

He had his hand on the handle, then when he heard his mom say this, he quickly turned around, and his mom threw him his shirt. He quickly put it on, and answered the door.

Elissa was standing there, and humming a song to herself when he opened the door.

"What did you need?" Rae asked.

"Oh!" Elissa jumped a little because she was too busy daydreaming, and she didn't hear him open the door. "I just forgot my things," Elissa said with a smile.

"Oh! Okay, here you go," Rae said, as his mom walked over with her backpack. She handed it to Rae, and Rae handed it to Elissa.

"Thanks." Elissa smiled as she took it. "I'll just...uh...go back to my room now," Elissa said as she turned and started walking off.

Rae's mom stood next to Rae, smiling.

Rae looked up at her, and asked, "What are you smiling at?"

"Oh, nothing," she answered, and started walking down to the Living Room.

Rae just looked at his mom in a funny way, and shrugged it off. He went back into his room, and started getting ready for bed.
