When everything started coming to, Rae sat up where he was, looking around frantically. "Elissa...?! Mom, wheres Elissa?!"

The still bawling mother just leaned over and smothered him in a warm embrace. "She's gone...I don't know if she'll be back. Hopefully, she'll leave this family alone..." the mother cried.

Rae just sat with wide eyes, and he pulled away from his mom. "No...she can't be gone!" Rae got up out of the bed, and, for the first time, noticed he was in the hospital.

"I was wrong Rae...you really are cursed with your curiosity, just like you told me..." Mrs. Irving sobbed.

"No...I am blessed with it!" Rae yelled. "You were right! I'm glad I met Elissa, even if I did end up in the hospital because of her! She's probably the best thing that's ever happened to me! She cant be gone...she just...can't be..." Rae yelled with a clenched fist.

"Rae...believe me...you're better off without her," Mrs. Irving sternly said.

"How would you know?! You don't know what's good for me, and what's not! You don't know what Elissa's like! You don't know her like I do...you can't make me not ever see her again!" Rae yelled even louder this time.

"Whoa...calm down little brother...we could hear you in the lobby," Matt joked.

Rae glared at him, and then said, "I need you to do something for me!"

"Why should I?!" Matt argued.

"Go find Elissa for me!" Rae demanded.

"Why, so she can hurt you even worse?!" Matt almost yelled at Rae.

"She...didn't hurt me..." Rae sighed.

Matt stared at Rae for a little while, and then said, "Then who the hell did that to you?"

"Her dad," Rae answered.

"How did her dad get to you?!" Mrs. Irving yelled.

Rae looked, wide-eyed at his mom because she had never yelled at him before. "B-because...Elissa ran off and got captured by her dad. I had to do something to save her, so I went in and saved her."

"So it was Elissa's fault..." Matt said coldly.

"No it wasn't!" Rae yelled at him, and then said, "I thought I told you to go after her."

"Yeah, you did, but I don't want to. It's not my fault she ran away," Matt replied.

"Please, Matt...you have to go after her! I can't let her run off again. What if her dad finds her again?!" Rae yelled at him.

Matt just shrugged, and said, "It's not my problem. If she gets caught, then she gets caught. I don't care."

Rae just started heading for the door, and, through gritted teeth, said, "Fine, I'll go after her!"

"Knock yourself out," Matt replied.

"Rae, you can't go after her...you might get hurt even worse..." the mother pleaded.

"Like I said before, Mom, you can't make me," Rae said, and ran off.

Mrs. Irving started crying even harder, and bawled, "I can't...believe he'd do that...he's not usually like this...he usually doesn't care what other people do, and he doesn't go after them..."

Mr. Irving came over to his wife, and took her in his arms. "Things really fell apart while I was away didnt it?"

"Why does he have to be so stubborn?" she whispered, still weeping.

Matt sighed, and said, "I'll go after him."

"Thank you Matt..." Mrs. Irving bawled.

Matt headed towards the door, and walked out of the room.

"I'm sorry, sir, but you can't leave the hospital as long as your doctor forbids it," Matt heard a nurse saying.

"Looks like he didn't get too far..." Matt sighed.

"No, you don't understand! I'm just...going to walk around!" Rae said, hiding the real fact why he wanted to go outside.

"Is my little brother giving you a hard time?" Matt asked the nurse as he walked up to them.

The nurse nodded her head, saying, "He is being very stubborn."

"Don't worry, I'll take care of him," Matt reassured, grabbing Rae's arm, leading him back to his room. "Now, Rae, you know you're not supposed to wander off like that!" Matt scolded, even waving his finger at him.

Rae just looked at Matt like his was an idiot, and said, "What are you doing?!"

"Listen," Matt whispered, "if you want to go find Elissa, be my guest, but you need to put on regular clothes first, so you can get past the nurses and doctors."

Rae nodded, showing he understood. "You're so mean!" he yelled, making it look like his brother and him were still fighting about him running off.

"I know, but just think about what mom's going to say when she finds out that you ran off!" Matt pretended along as well.

"Don't tell her! Please don't tell Mom! I'm going to get in a lot of trouble if you do!" Rae pleaded. "Uh...where am I going to change?" he whispered to his brother.

"Oh...go in here!" Matt whispered, pushing him into an unoccupied room. "Now, I'll bring you some clothes for you to change into."

Are you sure it's okay if I stay in here?" Rae said uneasily.

"Don't you ever break the rules?" Matt said.

"Sometimes, but still, what if someone comes in here?" Rae asked, still uneasy.

"Then hide, idiot," Matt said in that 'duh' attitude.

"Fine..." Rae sighed, and sat down on the bed.

Matt rolled his eyes and went out of the door.

Rae waited and waited for his brother to come back. "What's taking him so long?!" Rae yelled in his mind.

The door started opening, and Rae heard someone saying, "Sir, that's not your room."

"Oh, great...go ahead and get yourself caught why don't you?" Rae sighed.
