Partying with cake

Maddie's P.O.V-

I walk back to my house wearing a shirt that smelt of Luke. The wind kept blowing it up to my face and it made my insides go all numb. He smelt so damn good.

As soon as I got in the house, I got a giant hug from Anna. I hugged her back feeling so happy, I hated arguing with her.

"I'm sorry Mad. My friend told me what Luke did and I realise now it wasn't humiliating. Everyone disagrees with me"

"It's okay, I understand. I got fired today"

"What? Why?"

'"Because Dorothy is my boss and I said I thought she was wrong"

"You need a job though"

"I got one, I'm working in the cafe"

"That's cute. So you'll be working with Luke? She says wiggling her eyebrows.

"Yep"

"Aww mads!"

"I know! And sometimes Calum"

"Now I'm jealous" She laughs.

"How's your job?"

"As fun as selling albums can be. I mean its great to see what people like to listen to but it get boring after like 2 hours"

"I get it. I start my job tomorrow. Want to celebrate?"

"How?"

"Ummm..."

"Maybe bowling?"

"Wait, that shirt? Is it Luke's?" She says while smirking.

"Dorothy took the one I was wearing off and he offered this one to me okay?" I laugh, getting interrupted by the door opening with a shy Calum walking in.

"Sorry to bother you girls but Anna text me and told me to come over"

"It's fine cal, Maddie likes you, you don't have to explain yourself"  I smile as he walks in and kisses her cheek. He smiles and places his backpack on the floor. I could tell she really liked him.

"We're deciding what Maddie should do to celebrate her getting a new job"

"Ohh yeah! Luke told me we are going to be working together twice a week. You're working with him once. Something about a cup with a note and how you found it special"

"Personal thing"

"I get it. Now to celebrate this job?"

"Hmm. Pizza?" I say smirking.

"No, it has to be special" Anna says thinking.

"I have a great idea! We should all go to a club!"

"Partying? Like the place full of desperate girls and alcohol?" Anna asks while looking at Calum with a disgusted face.

"It's fun! Just ignore the desperate girls and just dance. We could invite Luke and all 4 of us could go! What do you say?"

"I think its great! I've never been so it would be nice to go somewhere out of my comfort zone" I say while smiling at Calum.

"I'm in. What time?"

"Easy. 7 tonight"

"It's 5 cal" I say pointing to the clock.

"Best get ready quickly, I'll text Luke" He picks up his bag and walks out of my house and into his car. I run upstairs with Anna and we change. I apply some quick makeup and style my hair.

I look at the time and go downstairs to put Alfie in his room with water and food.

I see Anna wearing a light yellow skater dress and she looks amazing. I was wearing a light blue skater dress with some small flowers. I had to dress up to impress Luke tonight.

The door goes and I open the door to find Calum outside smiling. I call Anna and she comes to the door just as Luke slowly walks towards the door.

He looks directly at me and I get my first proper glance into his eyes. They were so welcoming and were the brightest shade of blue which made my heart melt.

I walk over to Calum's car and I sit in the back with Anna. I have to admit, I'm a bit nervous about going to a club.

"Mad, you okay? You're shaking?" Anna asks while shaking me.

"Yeah, I'm just nervous and cold" I try my best to stop shaking and carry on our normal conversation.

We arrive at the club and my heart begins to race. I walk behind Anna, the boys by my side. I see hundreds of sweaty girls and boys, all drunk.

I stop and look around. I don't see any of my friends, only strangers. I slowly feel a hand slip into mine. I notice a giant hand in mine and I know it's Luke.

"I'm right beside you mads" I smile and grip my hand to his. It was the most amazing feeling, I felt nothing but my own heart beat. I knew then that these were not feelings I should be feeling for my friend.

We walk over to a seat and Anna and Calum come over with drinks. She gets me a none alcoholic drink as none of us were 21 and weren't old enough yet.

"So mads, how old are you?"

"Me? I'm 17, soon to be 18" I answer back to Luke who smiles.

"I'm 18 this year"

"Cool! When?"

"July, when's your birthday?"

"September"

"Haha, I'm older"

"Shut up Hemmings" He suddenly stops laughing. I look into his eyes and all I see is hate.

"Lu-" He gets up and walks out of the club. I slowly follow behind him, pushing my way through the crowd.

I go outside and I lose sight of him. I walk behind the corner to find Luke sitting in an alley way. I slowly walk over and sit by him but he glares at me.

"What's up Luke?"

"You called me Hemmings. Why?"

"I don't know. I though it would be cool'" I say while looking down. He obviously didn't find it cool. Way to go Maddie.

"My ex girlfriend used to called me that"

"I sorry" I tap his knee.

"I caught her and my best friend making out on my sofa. I threw my soup over them. Even though I was so happy I did it, my mum killed me for stain the sofa" He softly giggled.

"Luke, I didn't mean to say it. I'll stop if you want"

"No, I just got caught off guard when you said it. I kinda liked it when you said it"

"Why?"

"Call me it again"

"Hemmings"

"I could get used to you saying it though. The accent is cute. As long as you promise me you won't have a long make out session with Calum?"

"It was Calum?"

"No but he's my new best friend. I really like Calum and don't want to break friends with him" He smirks.

"I promise I won't kiss Calum" Then I realised, did Luke just say we were dating?

"Good" We both get up and I realise how small the alley way is. We were so close to each other and he slowly leant closer to me and I do the same.

He shakes his head and I see him smile. He walks off, back into the club. My smile fades. I seriously wanted to kiss his amazing face. Damn.
