Epilogue
Bella was back. She is back in the country she once lived and loved in. She smelt hotdogs and lemonade and knew she was home.
But it didn't felt like home.
It has been so long since she had saw Alice and the rest of the family. And him. She took a break from the present and traveled around the world. Doing some soul-searching and self love.
She kept contacts with Alice. Knowing that Rosalie and Emmett has given birth to a pair of beautiful twins, Alice suffered from a miscarriage of her first child and is now seven months pregnant with her third child. Alice's eldest was celebrating his 5th birthday this month.
Bella came back because she knew she was ready. She had forgiven him but she will not forget. She knew things couldn't be the same way again. She knew she couldn't be under the wing of the Cullens. She couldn't stay with him. She forgave him for being disrespectful. She forgave him for cheating. She forgave him for lying. She forgave him for hurting her. Because, in a way, Bella knew this is the only way she could forgive herself.
Esme booked a presidential suite in the most luxurious hotel for Bella and hoped Bella has settled in comfortably. She still felt unease.
Bella put on her cap and shades, pulling on her favourite sneakers. She sneaked out of the hotel without letting the guards know. Bella walked along the pavement of the beautiful street she once was so dear of.
It has been so long.
It was almost dusk when she came out of the crowded diner that sells the best donuts and pies. Her arms were full of chocolate drizzled donuts and cream glazed puffs. She was walking back to her temporary home when a hard shoulder knocked her off the pavement. She stumbled and a few puffs fell off her arms and bounced off the ground.
The shoulder that bumped into her hold her steady as she looked on her fallen supper. The grip was strong and recognisable. It felt so real.
They were both standing in the middle of the sidewalk where the sun was turning in and shops were getting brighter. It felt like forever. At that moment, she knew people behind them telling them to move didn't matter anymore. She knew her jet lag didn't matter anymore. She knew those glazed puffs didn't matter anymore. But, she knew he mattered.
Bella breath wavered. He still had the effect on her. And she on him as she felt his hands shaking and quavering. It was those familiar warm eyes that captivated her again.
"Edward," she breathed softly, every so sweetly.
"Hello," he smiled back.
They knew they were okay and they fell in love, all over again.
The end.
