Love or Revenge

Chapter 7

Zoya felt like she did something wrong after Aditya left that place. "Dammit! Why do I feel like I'm the bad person here? God! He is making me crazy". She couldn't get it why she is feeling that way. She couldn't shake off that feeling.

She started to work on the pending clients file and some of the personal clients that was personally handled by Stan. Just then, a few men entered the office and started to pack Stan's office. "Hey, what are you doing? Why are you packing Stan's office?" Zoya asked them.

"We are from DS Chartered Accountants Firm, it's been agreed between the clients of SMCA, Mr. Stanley and us, that in case of any unforeseen incident happens then our firm will take over SMCA and its clients. So, please stand back madam, don't interrupt in our work", a man said.

"What? It can't be what happens to the employees who are working here and there... there has to be some papers... right?" she asked. Another man came to the front handed over some legal documents signed by Stan. When she gone through the papers, her eyes widened and she couldn't believe her eyes.

"How on earth Stan would do this to his employees?" she yelled. The other man took the papers from her and pocketed it. They continued with their packing, Harshawardhan entered the office and asked them, "How long it'll take you finish up the cleaning?" The first person who answered to Zoya replied him, "Sir, it'll take minimum 2-3 hours to complete. We'll let you know once we finish up with this place".

"Okay, call me once you're done with the place", Harshawardhan said and turned to leave. "Mr. Hooda, you can't do this to Stan's employees. Every one worked hard and loyal to Stan", Zoya said.

"So what, at the end of the day it is business. We are here to make money and not any kind of relationship. So better stay out of this and I don't want any kind of issues while the things are taken care by DS and their employees. Kindly hand over all the documents to them and then you guys are relieved", he said and headed out of the office.

Zoya looked petrified and she felt like she was left alone in this. "Mam, can you please hand over the documents that you're holding with you and also can you please ask the others to hand over theirs" the person asked.

Zoya nodded and asked the others to do the same. When they finished the hand over, Zoya asked that man, "What happens to the employee's settlement?"

"Mam, we will work on the settlement process and we will send the cheques to their residential address", he said. And they left with the boxes they packed.

"I couldn't believe Stan would hide something important like this from us", one of the employee said. Zoya couldn't think of any solution for now. "Let me see, what I can do to help you all", she said and asked everyone to get back to their home.

Once she was alone in Stan's office. She knelt down looking down the floor and her body shook after a few minutes. She raised her head and was laughing like a maniac, an evil laugh.

Grace called Zoya while on her way back home. "Hey I just heard about Stan office been taken over by DSCA and all the employees were sent home. How are you feeling babe? Are you okay?" she asked.

"I'm okay but I don't know what to do next?" Zoya said in confusion. "Hey, you still got Aditya's offer, remember?" Grace reminded her. "I know, but I rejected his offer. Now, if I ask him, it looks like I'm taking advantage of the situation. I don't want that" she said. "And I just can't accept the offer and think about my life alone here. Along with me, 9 others has lost their job today. What will happen to them Grace? How will they survive without a job?" she added.
