Once I saw the trigger release, it felt like the rest was in slow motion. I watched as Niall screamed, mixed in with my screams and the kids crying. Niall had tried to shove the gun away earlier, but his efforts came out as useless, because the gun was still pressed to Bethany's head when the trigger was released.

A loud 'bang' echoed through the park, causing other people to come running over. I expected good luck to run through. I expected Bethany to be fine, and the bullet avoided her, but I was complete fine.

The bullet hit Bethany's head. My grandfather shot Bethany's head. I watched as Bethany's eyes widened, then quickly shut. Blood was pouring from the wound, and she was now limp in my Grandfather's arms.

I screamed, "BETHANY!" I ran over to my daughter, and Niall ran over to my Grandfather. Niall started to punch him repeatedly, as Grandfather's hand tightly remained on the gun. Niall pried the gun away from his blood-covered hand and threw it aside.

I scooped Bethany up in my arms, her body limp in my arms. I was sobbing, as I held her in my arms, blood pouring from her head, "Wake up, Bethany!" I begged, "Wake up, Mommy is here now!" I cried, "Wake up, Bethany!" I begged, "Wake up!" I screamed; sobs mixed in. A crowd was gathered around and people were hurriedly calling the cops.

"I'm a doctor," a man said, who was walking over to me. He took my daughter from my arms, checking her pulse. I looked at Bethany with tears running down my cheeks, "W-Will she be okay?" I whispered.

He didn't answer my question, "Where are the damn paramedics?" he yelled at the others. Someone yelled something in reply, but I didn't hear. My thoughts were still in shocked, so I couldn't even think straight. All I was looking at was the blood running down my daughter's head.

I heard the blaring of sirens in the background and within a few seconds, a group of paramedics ran over with a stretcher. Crowds were gathering and flashes of cameras filled my vision. The paramedics took Bethany away, and I grew angry as the paparazzi was filming and taking pictures. I turned around to face them, "Just get out of here!" I yelled at them, "She is dying and all you care about is getting pictures! Don't you have any ounce of human inside of you?" I yelled, causing everyone to grow silent. I glanced over at the police to see that they had handcuffed my Grandfather. They put him on a stretcher, too, because Niall hurt him so badly. I watched as he was wheeled past me. I felt all my hatred towards him resurface, but all I could manage out was, "Rot in hell," I whispered as he past me. Even if he was covered in blood and practically dying, I could see a smirk form on his face. I wanted to attack him and kill him, but I knew that I couldn't.

He was wheeled onto a different ambulance. Niall's fists were covered in blood, so he was taken into the ambulance, too. I quickly walked over to the paramedics, holding onto Aedan and Addy, who were crying, "P-Please can I ride with my husband and daughter? I-I'll have to take my kids with me, but I-I don't think I'll be able to drive there without breaking down."

She nodded and motioned for me to go in, helping Aedan and Addy in, too. The doors were closed behind us, and the paramedics were hurriedly helping Bethany. One of them helped Niall wrap his bleeding knuckles. I broke down sobbing during the ride.

When I saw the hand come out from behind the tree and take Bethany, I immediately knew who it was. We hadn't seen him in a while, so it was only obvious that he was going to show up soon.

"Haven't seen you in a while, sweetheart," his raspy voice said. I saw that his hand was covering Bethany's mouth. She was struggling to remove his hand from her mouth. Her eyes were wide, and I could see tears of fear glistening in her eye.
