Chapter 22
*Niall's P.O.V.*
I had fallen silent after my sudden outburst. The police were talking with people on the other end. Marie and Harry were expecting me to say something, but I remained silent, somewhat embarrassed by my outburst. Well, the other half of me told me that it was fine. I needed to let it all out.
The police car headed toward the destination. It wasn't too far from our house, in the normal part of town. I stared out the window, watching the scenery pass by. The police car pulled up into a house that looked pretty deserted. Except, you could hear some yelling from out here. Then, it went quiet. I wonder what is going on inside there.
I heard the officers talking to each other, "Well, according to the person that lives next door there has been lots of odd screaming at odd times of the night. They don't really know what's going on in there and they're suspicious."
One of the officers turned around so they could see Marie, Harry, and I, "Just wait here please while we deal with this small problem. It shouldn't take long, then we can get back to looking for you wife, Mr. Horan."
I nodded, "Okay."
The police officers got out of the car and I watched as they headed towards the door. They knocked on the door. They waited about a minute before knocking again. After another two minutes they started yelling. Finally, they had to knock down the door. I watched as they disappeared into the house.
"I wonder what's going on in there..." Marie mumbled. I shrugged, "I don't care, as long as it doesn't take long so we can go look for Nicole, again."
I felt my head being jumbled at just the thought of my beautiful wife, no perfect wife. I need her in my life. I can't live without her. I felt my insides getting messed up as memories of her popped into my head.
I hid my face in my hands and sighed into my hands. My elbows rested on top of my thighs. I just wanted to disappear; no I wanted to join Nicole. I want to save her more than anything in the world. She is waiting for me, but I'm taking too long.
"Niall, are you okay?" Harry cautiously asked, scared of how I would react. I didn't look up from my hands, so my voice was somewhat muffled as I spoke, "I-I can't live without her. She's my everything. I-I can't lose her. Every second of the day, I think about her. She's always in my mind. If I never find her... Then I won't ever be the same. I-I have to find her."
That's when I broke down sobbing into my hands. Harry put his hand on my shoulder, in a comforting way, "Niall, we will find her. That's because we will never stop looking for her. Nicole is like a sister to me. It would be hard for all of us to live without her. She's all a big part of our lives. We will never stop searching until she is back with us again."
I took a deep breath and pulled my head out of my hands. I looked at Harry and wiped the tears from my eyes, "Thanks, Harry," I quietly said, somewhat embarrassed from crying. I looked out the window, and suddenly, I saw someone walking out of the house, with one of the police officers talking to her, and making sure she was okay.
I squinted my eyes and finally was able to see who it was... It was Nicole.
**Nicole's P.O.V.*
Ashton fell to the ground, his stomach pumping out blood. The knife was still lodged in his stomach. I was staring at him, completely shocked. The blood stained the front of his shirt, and he remained unconscious.
I was almost positive that Ashton would kill me, but instead he stabbed the knife into his stomach. He said it was because he couldn't have me. He actually was in love with me. I never would have guessed that he tried to be the good guy.
