You know that one feeling when just a couple words can make your heart drop? Well, in this case, my broke in half and shattered into a million pieces when it hit the ground. Imagine losing your own daughter... it seems unreal. There is no way that this is real. She can't be dead.
I started developing an idea, after the doctor said the news. This is all fake. It must be a lie. Why is everyone lying to me? Why can't they just tell me where they put Bethany? I just want her to be fixed, then she can come back home with us.
I glanced over at Niall to see he was sobbing. The boys were trying to comfort him. The doctor walked away, letting Niall and I grieve in silence. I saw that the others were also crying. I just looked at them, not doing anything.
Marie glanced over at me through her tears, "N-Nicole...?" she quietly asked. I turned and looked at her, "When is Bethany's surgery going to be done? I want to be able to take her home. Besides, the kids miss seeing her."
Marie looked at me confused, "N-Nicole, she's d-dead," Marie whispered, before letting out a set of choked sobs. What is she talking about? Bethany isn't dead, and wouldn't just leave her own mother.
I picked up Aedan who was crying, "M-Mommy, why is everyone sad? They are talking about Bethany! Where's Bethany! Did she get hurt?" he asked through his tears.
"Aedan, everything will be fine. Bethany will be fine. She did get hurt, but she's in surgery right now. They're removing the bullet out of her head. They'll just fix her up and then we can take her home soon," I replied. Aedan's tears stopped and he smiled. I set him back on the floor and he ran over to play with Addy.
I don't want to be here too long. I wonder when Bethany's surgery is finished. Maybe Niall knows. I walked over to Niall. He was crying his eyes out, with Harry holding onto him. The other boys were trying to comfort him.
"Niall, when is Bethany's surgery finished?" I asked him, innocently. He stopped crying, and now everyone was looking at me, "W-What?" Niall asked, shocked by my question. I looked at him confused, "Why are you so shocked? It's just a simple question, Niall."
"Nicole, I don't have time to deal with this," Niall said in between tears. Why is Niall acting this way? Why is he crying so much? "Niall, I just want to know when we can go home with Bethany."
"S-She's dead, Nicole!" Niall cried, "Your Grandfather killed her!" Niall cried. Niall turned away and began sobbing again. Harry pulled him into a hug, trying to comfort his best friend. I just stared at them confused. Why does everyone think Bethany is dead?
"Nicole, do you want to go visit Bethany?" Aislinn quietly asked, tears glistening in her eyes. I nodded, "Is her surgery done?" I asked. Aislinn really didn't know how to reply to that, so she just led me into the room, with the others. Currently, people were trying to clean up the blood and get Bethany cleaned.
I looked at her. She was sleeping soundly. Hopefully she'll wake up soon, so I can see her smiling face again. I looked down at Bethany and smiled, "I can't wait to see you wake up again, Bethany. I love you so much, and I wish that all of this didn't happen."
I glanced back over at Niall, who was crying, as he stared at Bethany. Aislinn walked over to me, "Nicole, I just talked to the doctor, and he thinks you should get home and get some rest. It may help you sort out your thoughts. Besides, the kids look tired."
"Okay, but do you know when Bethany can come home?" I asked. Aislinn simply shrugged, "U-Um, I don't know, Nicole," she quietly replied. I picked up Addy, and she picked up Aedan. Aislinn led me out of the hospital.
We were immediately met with screaming fans and tons of paparazzi. They crowded the doors, and Aislinn and I didn't even know how to get out. Aislinn glanced at me nervously, "Nicole, do you think we can get to the car?"
