"I wonder what happened..." Nicole mumbled, instantly taking her mind off of the hate she got. I shrugged and then scooped up Addy, "Well, we don't have any choice but to go to the hospital to figure out.
"What was that about?" Nicole asked me. I had finished my call with Harry and was now blankly staring at the screen, trying to guess what happened to Marie, "W-Well, Harry called and said that something happened to Marie... he wants us to go to the hospital and he'll tell us there."
Nicole followed my directions and picked up Aedan. We carried the kids out of the car and got in. I drove us down to the hospital to see what happened to Marie.

*Harry's P.O.V.*
I stared at Marie as she lay unconscious in her hospital bed. The doctor said that there were no serious injuries, thankfully. The emotional part is what I'm most worried about, though. This is going to be so hard for Marie, I know it.
One good thing came out of it all, though. Alex was arrested. He's in jail and won't be getting out any time soon. Marie will be safe from him, now. He had some pretty bad injuries from me, but he definitely deserved them. Marie can't ever take back the memories.
I sighed and sat back in the plastic chair behind me. I stared at Marie who was sleeping soundly. Her face had a couple slight bruises, I'm just lucky that he didn't get the chance to kidnap her.
I let out another sigh before burying my face in my hands. I just wanted today to be perfect, but it ended like this. It ended with my own wife getting raped by her own stepbrother... why does this have to happen to me? To us?
Suddenly, the door to Marie's hospital room opens up. I looked up to see Nicole, Niall, and their kids standing in the doorway. They said nothing at first, just walked in. Nicole was looking at Marie confused, but when she saw the bruises, her eyes grew wide, "How did she get hurt?" Nicole softly asked, worried that her words were hurt me if they were too loud.
"It's her cousin..." I quietly said, "H-He found Marie... and then beat and raped her..."
"But, weren't you with Marie?" Niall asked. That question instantly stabbed at my heart. I wasn't there for her when she needed me... That's why she got hurt, "N-No," I finally stuttered out after a minute of silence, "We went out for dinner and then took a walk down a trail together... Marie realized that she left her phone at the restaurant and then I went back to get it for her, as she stayed behind. When I left... he got to her..."
The room fell silent again. I hated silence... I don't want to be the one to speak up; can't they say something so I don't have to? Everything is coming down at once, and the last thing I need is silence at a time like this.
"She'll be okay, right?" Nicole quietly asked. I looked up at them to see that they were staring at Marie's sleeping figure. Her blond hair had a little bit of dirt in it and sections of her skin was bruised, but she was still the prettiest girl I've ever laid eyes on. Her eyes were closed, she looked peaceful... I hope she enjoys the peacefulness until she wakes up and the nightmares hit her all at once. I just want her to be truly happy... that's all I ever wanted for her.
Suddenly, I saw Marie's eyes starting to flutter open. My heart rose a little from happiness. Thank God, she's actually going to wake up. All I wish is that I would know what to say to her. Maybe she'll not remember what happened in the woods... just maybe...
"W-Where is he, Harry?" Marie whispered. I looked to see tears in her eyes. Well, there goes the hope of her not remembering what happened. Looks like I'll have to tell her the story, "Marie, Alex is in jail, you're safe now."
