Chapter 52

Suddenly, my phone rang, interrupting the conversation. I unhooked my arms from Nicole's body, as I pulled out my phone. I looked at the caller ID to see it was Harry, "It's Harry, I'm gonna take this out in the hallway."

Nicole nodded, and I walked out of the room, so I could speak to harry in private, "Hey, Harry."

"Marie is becoming clingy. She won't leave my side, no, she won't let me. I'm so worried, I don't know what to do. Please help me, I'm so scared!" Harry spoke quickly, his sentences mashing all together.

"Why are you so scared about it?" I asked, confused, "Just let Marie continue to cling onto you until her feelings wear off. Why are you so worried about this anyways?"

"Do you remember what happened when Nicole was like that? It was after she was raped by Ashton. She didn't want to leave your side, so you stayed by her side, because you felt guilty for not being there the first time to save her. Niall, doesn't that sound awfully familiar to what's happening to me, but with Marie? I-I just don't want her to get hurt. I-I just need you to help me," Harry said. I knew he was crying at the end, his voice was wavering and his breathing was shaky.

Harry hasn't really had to deal with situations like this before. Yeah, he's seen it happen to Nicole before, but it didn't affect him the way it did to me. Yeah, he's been worried about Marie, but nothing serious had happened... until now.

"Harry, I know this is hard for you. Every time something bad happens to Nicole, I feel the same way. And you know how many times something bad has happened to Nicole. Way too many to count, but after something bad happens, she just wants someone here for her. She understands that it's not my fault for not being there on time. No one is perfect, Nicole has begun to grasp that idea. What I'm trying to say is that Marie needs someone to listen to her, comfort her, and love her. I'm pretty sure that Marie is going to break. You won't be able to stop it. I have some advice for you when it does happen. Don't take her blade; just hold her in your arms. Ask her to speak to you, don't demand it. Just hold her and protect her. Show Marie that she's loved."

There was silence on the other end and finally I heard Harry's deep voice, "She's going to hurt herself?" he sounded like he had been punched in the stomach and couldn't recover from the horrible blow. Well, I guess that's how his stomach feels right now. I should know. I've had that feeling multiple times.

"Yeah, she will," I whispered. I knew that I had broken his heart by saying those three simple words, but I couldn't lie to him. He'll realize it eventually and he'll realize that there's no way to stop it. I should know better than anyone.

"I-I can't just watch that happen!" Harry cried. I sighed, "Well, then you know my feelings for seven years."

There was another minute of silence, "How do you do it?" Harry softly asked. Curiosity covered every inch of his voice. Everyone wants to know how I do it and I could tell them, but I don't think they could ever understand.

"It's everything about her," I explained, I secretly had wished someone would ask this question. I always want to talk about Nicole, "You should know, Harry. It's love. Nothing, absolutely nothing, in the world can overpower fear. Not fear, not anger, not sadness, nothing. You know how it took me a while to finally find someone I truly loved. But, the moment I saw Nicole, I knew she was the one. It wasn't her appearance, I don't care how she looks. It was the look in her eyes. The look of overwhelming fear. She looked like she didn't have much longer to live. She needed someone so badly, and from that moment on, I knew that it had to be me. I was the only one in this world who could save her and I have kept by that since. I'm the only one who can help her, no one else. I will do anything for her, love is just so powerful."
