"Hey Y/N." I see a blast of red in my vision. "I would like to invite you to my home today. I have been feeling on the lonely side lately and would enjoy your company." I frown confused. "Bring a bag." She smiled sweetly.
"Okay," I swallow. "I'll see you later Cheryl." Your whole life, Cheryl has done nothing but torment you. You didn't think she liked you at all, but she just asked you to a sleepover. You meet Betty at her locker still stricken with confusion. Did Cheryl know of your crush? Was she going to torment you for it?
"What's up?" She laughed snapping her fingers to get your attention.
"Cheryl just invited me to her house... For a sleepover," I explain. "Did she invite you?"
"Yeah. She's been super lonely since Toni left her and she can't do much with her grandma. It will help her a lot," Betty said. "Why do you look like you've seen a ghost?"
"Because Cheryl has been nothing but cruel to me our entire life. I'm just confused to why she invited me over," I say. "Is this a prank?"
"No. Just come?" You nod reluctantly. "Good, I'll see you then."
You arrive earlier than the others Cheryl invited. You knock awkwardly waiting. The door slowly opens and she smiles warmly. "Welcome, Y/N, come in."
"Your house is beautiful, Cheryl," you say looking around. "Do you want me to put my bag in a closet or?"
"Oh, I will take that. Stay here," she takes your bag and goes upstairs. You look around the place admiring the beautiful old fashioned style it had. "Come into the living area. There is tea and snacks." She holds out a hand. You slowly take it, blushing when they meet. "Sit."
"So, when will the others come?" You ask sitting.
"Soon, so tell me about yourself. We never were that close," she sits next to you crossing her legs. "I want to know everything."
You eye her legs for a moment, wanting run your hands down them, "well... Erm... I don't know what to say. My life is pretty boring. I stay home or I work for Veronica at the diner. I broke up with girlfriend a couple months ago... She was so controlling of me. I could never do anything without her telling me what to do." I lose myself in talking about Caitlynne becoming a little sad. You had been with her for almost a year and you did love her. "I finally broke it off when she rose a hand at me..."
"Oh my, Y/N, I'm so sorry," she placed a hand on my thigh and had sorrow in her eyes. "That must've been so hard, I couldn't imagine going through that. It sounds like you really loved her."
"I did. I think towards the end we just fell apart and I didn't love her like I thought," I say. "That doesn't make much sense, I know."
"It does to me," she sighed. "When Toni left, I realized that maybe I didn't love her for her but for what she did for me. And, she decided she didn't love me either."
"Cheryl, you don't have to talk about this. I know it's hard and your mom had a big role in it," you say trying to comfort her. "I think you're alright though. I mean you were awful to me but I seen you rebuild yourself."
"Thanks... I'm sorry for the past couple years. You didn't deserve that," she looked away. "I used people as an outlet for my stress and anger. It wasn't fair." You look at her hand that was still on your thigh. "Sorry." She pulls away.
"No it's fine," you say. "So, Erm, Do you want to like do something?"
"Like what?" She asked looking around. "How about we play a game." You nod. "Have you ever had a crush on someone while you were dating somebody else?"
"Once." You say.
"Your turn."
"Have you ever thought about dating anyone else in our school?" You shrug.
"Yeah," she says. "Who were you dating when you had a crush on someone else?"
"Caitylnne." You say. "So, I'm assuming it was a girl right?"
"Of course," she laughed. "Did she know you had a crush?"
"No. I didn't tell her. Mostly in fear. Was the girl on the squad?"
"No," she said. "Those girls are not my type. Where did she go after you broke up with her?"
"I don't know." You shrug. "I deleted her from my life. Do you still think of dating that girl?"
"Yeah, I still think about her often..." she looks at you for a second before a knock on the door interrupted you two. "The others are here."
"Great."
"Okay ladies let's play spin the bottle. The boys will love it," Veronica laughed. "Y/N spin."
"Okay..." you spin the bottle and it lands on Betty. "Well we've done this before so." You lean over and kiss her lightly.
They all spun and you played for a while before Cheryl spun the last time. "This one has to go in the closet," Rachel said. "Fifteen minutes of whatever you want." And it landed on you and hey all smile laughing lightly. Cheryl stands first and you follow they lock you in the closet giggling.
"So," You say awkwardly.
"Oh just kiss me already. It will be over faster," she said pulling at your shirt, making you stumble. Her hands hold your face as her lips meet yours. Your heart flutters as you finally relax into it. Her hands fall to your shoulders and you let yours sit on her sides. You had been wanting this for so long and it was happening. You couldn't believe it as you push her against the wall and her hands trail your body. You didn't notice the door open behind you or the girls take pictures of you two.
"Guys the times up," Veronica laughed making you jump. "Unless you'd rather take this to the bedroom."
"Please, I have more manners than that dear Veronica," Cheryl said. "Let's get back to the party." You take a step back and fix yourself before returning to the rest. "What now?"
"You Okay?" Betty whispered leaning over to you. "You seem shook."
"Yeah... I just haven't... Since Cait." You said.
"Do you need to go outside?" She asked. "I can walk with you." You nod and she excuses you both. "Do you want to talk about it?"
"I don't know..."
"Okay... How about you sit..." She brings you to a bench and you both sit looking at the sky. "Do you remember when Veronica first came to Riverdale High?" You nod. "Well we went to Cheryl's party and she made out with Archie. I thought he was what I wanted but he wasn't. Like when you were Caitlynne because you thought you wanted her. Well Jughead and I... We had a moment and that's how you know. So your crush... Is that what you want?"
"I don't know."
"I'll let you think about it," she said getting up. "Don't be too long though it's gonna rain."
You nod as she walks back inside and you stare at the sky a little longer before your phone vibrates.
I thought you said that there wouldn't be any making out. There's a video! I feel lied to.
Calm down Fangs. I didn't know it was going to happen.
Welp you look hot. Does this mean you told Cheryl?
No! How could I? We played spin the bottle and we were sent to the closet. She started the kiss!
Do tell more 😏😏😉
You're a perv.
You should tell her. I bet she feels the same. ESP. That kiss! Better than porn. For real though, you need to tell her pronto!
I can't.
Just do it. You will feel better and the worst thing is that she could say she doesn't feel the same. If it's meant to be, it will be.
That's a song.
Oh well it's true. Bye now
"Want some company?" Cheryl said looking at you then the sky. You move over. "What are you doing out here?"
"Just thinking... I haven't really kissed anyone since Cait."
"Oh... Well I haven't kissed anyone since Toni either. It's definitely weird."
You laugh, "yeah it's weird." You pause. "So... Who was it? The girl you had a crush on?"
"It's stupid..."
"Doubt it," You laugh. "Who was it?"
"You." You choke on the air you were breathing and looked at her carefully studying her. You couldn't tell if this was a dream or not. "I told you."
"What? No, it's uhm flattering..." you couldn't think of what to say.
"Alright well I'm going to go," she said getting up quickly and you cursed grabbing her arm. "Really, you don't have to pity me."
"I'm not pitying you," you swallow. "Not at all. I just can't believe it." The sky roars to life bring rain with it.
"Is that supposed to make me feel better?"
"I don't know... I am not sure on what to say," you say. "I'm not good with words." She starts walking again. "Stop." You grab her again and this time you kiss her.
