Valentines Day. The worst day of the year for you and you like to think many, though from your continuous Facebook page... Let's just say it didn't look great on your end. All of your friends were with someone. Jughead even posted twice, once for Betty and the other for his love of Pop's food. Reggie had Veronica. Cheryl and Toni of course had posted many sensual pictures to show their affection. And, the newly formed couple, Archie and Josie. Which literally came out of nowhere. That left you. Sweet Pea has a date with one of his older friends and Fangs was somewhere sulking. You stayed in your apartment most of the day drinking your new bottle of Jägermeiſter. After so many mixed drinks, you began drinking it straight. Scrolling through your Facebook made you more depressed as you realized you had never spent it with someone.
You pull out your phone and start a live feed, "Guys! Stoppp postinnggg all of your stupid Valentimes Day pictures!" You make an exaggerated sad face. "You wanna know my Valenvines Day Valotime? This beautiful bottle Jägèr! You know why? Because, this BASTARD CHUCK blew me off! He threw me away like I was trash! Maybe it wouldn't be so bad if he was here..." You see comments pop up on the screen, but they come up too fast for your drunken brain to keep up with. "Calm me down! Your comments are coming toooo fast!" There was a knock on your door that made your head pop. "There's someone here!" You jump up and trip over the coffee table on your way to the door. You peer through a large crack and see your favorite cookie.
"Y/N," he chuckled. "Drunk? You're all over Facebook."
"So?"
"You're bleeding," he points to your forehead. "What happened?"
"I don't know," you shrug and open the door. "Come on to my home abode."
"Do you mean humble abode?" He laughed as he shrugs off his jacket. "I've been here before. A lot."
"Oh!" You look at your phone. "It's still on! Guyssss it's Fangs! Look!" You point your phone towards him.
"Yeah," he nods and takes you phone as you pout. "Let me at least patch your face up?" He holds a paper towel up and pressed it on your forehead.
"Bitch!" You scream swatting him away. "You hurt me!" He takes in a deep breath and shakes his head. "Don't touch me!"
"Calm down," he says with a smirk. "You are bleeding, remember? You're such a baby."
"A baby?" You ask. "God! I am twenty three! We are in our twenties! I am alone! I am never gonna have a baby." You fall into his shoulder. "I'm a never going to have a baby or get married."
"Yes you will," he says. "You will." You grab his face and kiss him. He pulls away and gives you a look.
"No! I'm lonely it's not V day it's L day. For lonely. And no one likes me! I'm weird and uglyely," you cry.
"That's not true," he says rubbing your back. "You are not ugly. You are not weird. You are Y/N frickin Y/L/N!" You shake your head.
"That's not what I mean."
"I know how you meant it and that is how I meant it," he says and you give him a confused look. "I like you, Y/N. You are beautiful and strong. You are smart."
"Excuse me," you ask and look at him. "You like me? Like, like, like, like me?" He nods. "I thought, you thought, I was just a friend." You grab his face again and kiss him. His left arm drapes around your waist as his right hand moves up to hold your chin.
"Why are you crying?" He asks and you shake your head. "Does your head still hurt?" You nod.
"My arm hurts too," you say. "Look!" You hold up your now bruised arm with a laugh. "God, I'm so clumsy." He nods. Fangs' phone begins to ring loudly making you both jump.
"Hello?" Fangs answers.
"As much as we would all love to watch the two of you fuck on Facebook," Sweet Pea says through the tiny speaker. "I think it's time you end the live feed."
"Shit," Fangs sighed before grabbing your phone and gives a wave to it before he ends the feed. "Thanks Pea. See you tomorrow."
"Wear a condom," he laughed before Fangs hangs up.
"What?" You laugh. "Sweets?"
"He's joking," Fangs shook his head. "Water? You reek of German alcohol."
"What's?"
"Jägèr is German," he laughed. "Gosh, drunk You is just... Let's fix your face then your arm. Don't scream again." You nod as he takes his paper towel again and sits you down. "You know, I'm used to do thing for Serpents. Not Pretty Poisons."
"Wellllll."
"Okay," He nods. "Here, it's done. Let me see your arm." You hold up your arm as you drink the water you were given. It spills a little and you laugh. "You are a mess."
"I know," you say. "But, I'm a mess when I am sober so, what can I do."
"True," He chuckled. "Alright, I'm done. Finish your water and I am gonna our you to bed."
"Why? It's only... Five?" You whine as he pulls you up. "I don't wanna."
"Because, you are drunk before five," he laughed. "Okay... If you don't wanna lay in bed, then let's watch a movie." He pulls you to the sofa and turns the TV on. You fall asleep quickly during the Freeform movie marathon.
"Is she still passed out?" You hear a familiar males voice. "That Facebook post was a mess."
"Well," You hear Fangs say.
"Chuck? What the hell are you doing here?" You ask sitting up. "Seriously?"
"Hey," he smiled. "I seen your video on Facebook. Babe, I came for you."
"No," you shake your head. "I didn't ask for you to come."
"Come on, Y/N, I still love you," he said. "And I know you love me too."
"No," you say again.
"Fuck!" Chuck hits the coffee table. "What the hell do you want from me? You know, I was the best thing to happen to you."
"I think you should go," Fangs says. "Seriously, she doesn't want you here."
"You say that," he nods with a laugh. "But, you know she's just using you as a rebound."
"Chuck," you groan. "Get out! Now! Or I will call the police, and I'm not sure if you realized this or not, but I am pretty damn close with the sheriff now. My uncle, F.P?"
"Dude," He shook his head. "I don't need you anyways. Have fun with this boring ass bitch." He slams the door behind him making you flinch.
"Wow," Fangs chuckled. "He's a real catch." You nod slowly standing up. "Careful, you still have three quarts of Jägèr in your system."
"I feel it, believe me," you laugh hoarsely. "How long was I sleeping? When did I even lay on the couch?"
"After I fixed your head and your arm," he explained. "Then we were watching Grease and you singing then you laid down and passed out. Not before throwing up."
"Oh god," you sigh. "This is so embarrassing."
"Oh, believe me, you don't know it," he laughed. "You changed. Three times because you woke up before."
"Into?" You sit back on the sofa.
"Well, you changed into a ninja turtle onesie," he thinks. "Then, you took that off. Right there." He points to the hallway door. "Then, you come back in literally just your under clothing. And, you fought me to get the shirt on. Who's is that?"
"I think it's Jughead's," you look down and shrug. "I came out in my bra and underwear?"
"Oh yeah," he nods. "And you cried when I put that shirt on you. And that was all in the first time you woke up."
"Wait, I woke up three separate times and I only changed the first time?" You ask. "It's only, nine!"
"Oh I know," he chuckled. "The second time, you were like weirdly chaotic. You can't tell because I fixed everything. Which, included you throwing your silverware everywhere and you were singing the singing Gold Digger by Kanye West. Which makes no sense because your silverware is SILVER."
"I don't know," you shake your head.
"Then, you run to your bedroom and come back with a blanket wrapped around your neck. You said you were a superhero," he laughed. "I laid you back down. The last time you were up. That was tough. You cried a lot. You cried because you weren't wearing pants. You cried because you were wearing pants. You cried because I took care of you. You cried when you couldn't find the remote. You cried because you had no Valentine. Then! This is the crazy part. I told you I would be your Valentine. You sky rocket up off the couch and hug me. Then, you yell at me for leading you on. Which I was confused about. Then, you hug me again. Then you cry. And, you fell asleep again. I'm gonna guess emotional exhaustion."
"Ugh," you groan. "At least I have a Valentine." He laughed and sat on the chair across from you. "What?"
"Well you said you hated me," he laughed. "And, you still haven't seen your phone." You give him a horrified look. "Just look."
"I posted a lot this morning," you say scrolling from the beginning of the day then you get to the video. "Oh god no. I don't even want to watch it."
"Your call, but I think it's pretty damn funny," he shrugs. "Do you feel sick?" You shake your head but everything was still spinning.
"So," You say after a moment of silence. "Did I embarrass myself enough for you to think I'm weird?"
"Oh yeah," he nods and you bury your face in your pillow. "But, I like it." You peek up at him. "I told you, I like, like, like, like, like, you." You slowly remember the conversation and the kiss.
"Oh yeah," you laugh. "What did I say back?"
"You did not say anything," he chuckled. "Which honestly, hurt my feelings... Actually, you said that you thought, that I thought of you as just friends."
"Oh," you nod pushing the pillow to the side. "Well, Fangs Fogarty, I am very glad you were here today. And, that you were my Valentine. And, that you stayed to take care of all of my toddler antics. And even when Chuck got here. I know, that I am a mess." He nods and you see his eyes droop a little. "And, I sorta sobering up from my like ten shots. So, I wanna say that I really do like, like, like, like, like, like you like so much." You get up and sit on the arm rest of his chair, an arm placed on his shoulders.
"So many likes," he chuckled and pulled you down to his lap. You lean your head down and kiss him softly with one of your arms around his neck and the other on his stubbled chin. The two of you always talk about that day. For the years to come, you post pictures with all of your likes on Valentine's Day. And the day he proposed he had filled it with as many 'likes' as he could. And both of your vows had your own versions of 'like'.
"Fangs, we started off as enemies because of where we came from. We became friends because of mutually neutral people. I knew when we first spoke, that I wanted to be your friend. You were funny and caring and that was only a judgement call. Which, we know I am not one to make the right calls. You proved me right for all of the times you were there for me, even when you had your own problems at home. I was horrified of Sweet Pea, which made me really look up to you. You were always so sweet to me, when I definitely did not deserve it. I was a grade A bitch, weird, northsider, but you never weren't nice. Even, when I became that girl who dated the bad guy. You were still my friend. Then, one horrific Valentine's Day, over a year later, you come to my rescue again. Honestly, that day is one I will never forget. Not only because it was the day I found out that I can drink an entirety of a seven hundred fifty milliliter bottle of Jägèr and then get sick from it. But, it was the day that I realized that I like really liked you. More than a great friend. It's the day I realized that I would never want anyone else. And, most importantly, it was the day that I learned that I didn't know what real happiness and love was. Fangs, I like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, love you. So much, and figuring that out was the best thing I could've ever done. So thanks for beating it into my head," you say as tears are falling from your face. "That you liked me too."
"Y/N," he shook his head with a laugh. "I remember the day that I first seen you. It wasn't when the schools were made into one. Or even at riot night. It was when we were in middle school and your mother had just brought you to F.P's trailer. It was the first time you got to meet them, your uncle, your cousins, your aunt. I saw you get out of your expensive car and walk up to the beat up trailer in your expensive new clothes. I thought you were so pretty. The next time I saw you was when Jughead came to Southside high. You came with Betty, into the school and didn't care that you were different. It was crazy how calm you kept through it all. And, on riot night, you stood up for your friends. And, sure you weren't the nicest, but I could see that you had something that many of the others didn't. You had a soul and a big heart. I could see that you thought with your brain and all you needed was a little education. Which of course, you ended up teaching yourself. Becoming your friend was the greatest and the hardest thing I had done. I watched you do some questionable things with people. I watched you become the queen of the school because of the guy you were with. I watched you go to college with him. I watched you throw yourself down. But, I couldn't tell you how beautiful you were or how much I loved you. I didn't want to be a jerk. But, one great day, I showed up at your apartment. Unannounced, which caused that tiny scar on your forehead. I got this phone call from Pea and he said someone needed to go make sure you were okay. So I did. And, I seen a lot of you, that day, figuratively and literally. It was weird, because I already loved you and I thought that I had seen every side of you. But, I just somehow fell more in love with you every second of it. There was even more to you then I even imagined. The turtle outfit, the silverware, the crying, and even just you saying you were happy to be my Valentine. It was like, life just forced us together and was telling us Now was the time. You were literally everything I ever imagined for me, plus things I didn't even know I needed. Ever since that day, we have had such an amazing time. We fight like others but we know that in the end we still love each other. I can't even think of a life without you anymore. I like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, LIKE, love you too. And, I am so happy that I got that call for me to go to your place because you are the best thing that could've ever happened to me," he said and you had more tears in your eyes. The officiate pronounced the two of you husband and wife and everyone cheers as the two of you kiss. You smile at your friends when you pull away, with each and every one of them, this could have never happened.
