"Can you pick the lock?" Sweet Pea asked and you gave him a look. "What? It's a yes or no question."
"Yes I can pick the lock," you roll your eyes. "Someone give me a credit card." Archie hands you his license. "No! I need a credit or debit card. They have different durabilities."
"Seriously?" Archie asked.
"Yes!" You snap and he grabs a credit card from his wallet. "Thanks!" You put it in your pocket. "Okay, now, let's just try this." You jiggle the handle and it opens. "Easy enough."
"I'm gonna need my card back," Archie says.
"Finders keepers," you smile. "Now, FP is gonna kill me if he finds out I'm doing this."
"Why would he care?" Fangs asks.
"Yeah, Y/N," Pea quirks a knowing brow. "Why would he care?"
"Because he's the sheriff of the town? He thinks higher of me than all of you," you say. "Why else?"
"That's not cool. Why does he think higher of you?" Archie asked. "Jug and I are best friends. I should be higher than you."
"Well Y/N helps him after hours with stuff. Really takes a load off," Pea says. "She really knows her way around a office." You elbow him causing him to grunt.
"Well if we hurry he won't know," Fangs waves a hand. "Y/N, keep look out."
"The house is empty," you scrunch your face. "Nobody knows we are here and no one is coming home. Betty and Jughead have no idea we came here to find their plans."
"Why do we care about their stupid plans for the wedding again?" Pea asks.
"Because we want to know what they got is for being in the wedding. Also, I will have to talk Betty out of whoever I have to walk with. Like you," you roll your eyes. "Anyways, someone should be checking the bedroom."
"The Betty's diaries!" Archie smiled. "Good thinking."
"Well that happens when you're the smartest friend," you shrug.
"God I hate how nice this place is. When do they have the time to keep this giant apartment so clean? They are always doing something," Fangs says.
"They don't sleep. They found caffeinated pills that keep them awake all day and night. They're all machine now. Probably gonna have to put them down soon," you laugh. "Pulling the cord will be nice."
"I know you're joking," Fangs said. "But there's a part of me that thinks that you lay in bed thinking of how to put us all down."
"Maybe I do," you shrug. "I'd be gentle with you don't worry."
"Thanks," he shakes and turns away.
"Get your feet off the table," Pea shook his head. "If you're gonna be look out at least keep things in the order they were already in. They can't know we were here. It's gonna throw everything off. Betty's gonna put us on usher duty or something."
"Wouldn't that be a step up from bathroom attendant?" You joke.
"What exactly is going on here?" A voice booms through the apartment. You jump up quickly from the couch. "Every one of you better line up right now." He waits for the rest of them to face him. He crosses his arms. "What are the four of you doing in Betty and Jug's apartment?"
"Umm, would it be possible to say that we are supposed to be here? Betty asked us to clean?" Pea asks.
"It wouldn't," FP shook his head. "You are all aware that breaking and entering is crime right? I am supposed to be arresting you right now. How did you even get in?"
"Someone left the back door open," you bite your lip.
"Damnit," FP shook his head. "You know what? Give me legit reason for why you were here tonight. The truth. And I will let you go home and there won't be any charges."
"We just wanted to see the wedding plans," Fangs explains. "They told us that we were in the wedding but won't tell us anything else! They won't even tell us what we are doing in the wedding."
"You broke into their house to look at their wedding book?" FP pinched the bridge of his nose. "The book isn't even here! They knew you'd come and look for it. How dumb do you think they are?"
"Wait where is the book? If it's not here?" Archie asked.
"Like I'm gonna tell you," FP sighed. "Get the hell out of here! Now! You're lucky I'm the one who caught you, if one of them did. You'd be dead. Bathroom attendant would be a better fate then what Betty would have for you."
"Right, sorry sir," Archie nods.
"Yeah it won't happen again," Fangs agreed.
"It better not because the next time you're spending the night in jail," FP says. "You're adults now. Now get out." You follow them to the door. "Y/N, not you." The boys stop and look between you two for a moment.
"Look, I am sorry," you say. "I couldn't help it! It's so hard to let this whole thing be a surprise! It's agonizing! Sweet Pea knew how to get to me and I let him. I'm sorry." It comes out jumbled and quick.
He laughs, "I'm not gonna yell at you, Y/N. I am disappointed, but honestly I'm not even surprised. Betty told me you guys were here."
"So, you're not gonna yell? Why did you want me to stay?" You ask. "To explain the consequences of Betty?"
"No," he rolled his eyes. "Let me walk you up to your apartment. Can't let you go out alone and I told the boys to go straight home."
"Right," you laugh. "Then let's go?" He nods walking with you out the door locking it on his way out. "You know if I had a key, I wouldn't have to break in."
"You know that if you didn't break into their home they might think about giving you a key like everyone else," he explains. "But I think that would mean you act like an adult and not a child."
"Please, if I didn't act like an adult," you stop at your door. "Would I be able to do this?" You run your fingers down his cheek stopping at the back of his neck. You pull him closer. "Would you feel this way, if I acted like a child?" He sighed into your face and you lightly brush your lips over his. The hair on his face pricks your face leaving a tingle sensation. You unlock the door pushing it open, still facing him. "You could come inside..."
"I could," he nods. "What then?"
"I get you a cup of tea, we talk about our day then we try something a little bit more... hands on?" You smirk. "Maybe a little more physical."
"We could," he nods. "That sounds, fun."
"Yeah," you pull him in. "I'm glad we're on the same page." You kick your shoes off and go into the kitchen making him a cup of sweet tea. "So, tell me how your day was. Do anything exciting, Mr Sheriff?"
"Mostly paperwork. But, I did run into some kids thinking they could break into their friends house," he says.
"Ooh, sounds like those kids are bad," you say. "Did you punish them?"
"Let em off easy this time," he shrugs. "Did the same thing when I was kid for worse reasons. But, I think that girl could use some reforming."
"Oh?"
"Yeah, too bad she's just a young girl though. I don't think she'd like my kind of discipline," he shrugged.
"Try me," you wink before sitting on his lap moving to a straddle. "I think you'd be surprised on what she likes." You kiss him again, this time putting more force into it as you tangle your fingers in his black hair. His own hands hold your back almost cradling you into him. Your teeth pull on his lip a little making his hands ball up your shirt. He starts to your neck barely giving you time to adjust before his teeth graze an already sensitive spot. "Mr Jones, you're so good at that."
"Don't call me that," he mumbled into your neck but you could feel how it still turned him on more. "I ain't Mr Jones to you. Not anymore."
"Oh? Do I still get to call you Sheriff then?" You groan as his teeth once again nip at your skin. He doesn't answer as he moves down your neck. You hold his head close and run your fingers through his hair. Giving little tugs when he hit a sensitive spot.
"You really need to," he pulls away. "You need to stop getting into trouble."
"Hey, I didn't kill anyone," you laugh. "Isn't that a plus? No body. Just a little minor crime. And it's barely a crime. The door was unlocked."
"Right we'll if it ever comes up, the door wasn't unlocked," FP says and you laugh. "I might've forgot to lock it on my way out yesterday."
"Hey," you chuckle. "My lips are sealed." You push your lips together before biting your lip. "I have Archie's credit card though."
"Why?"
"Told him I needed to open the door," you shrug. "The dumb ass believed me when I said that his license wouldn't work. He handed it to me."
"Give it to me," he shook his head. "Now." You pout a little before pulling it out of your pocket. "Stop conning your friends into giving you their credit cards. What do you do with them?"
"I like to call it teaching," you shrug. "I throw it in my pocket for a few days. They forget causing them to freak out and I buy a coffee before returning it to them. Honestly they need to learn not to give out valuable things like this."
"You're awful," he laughed before going back your neck leaving a trail to your shoulder. Pushing your shirt away. You close your eyes and basically becoming putty for him to play with.
Your head falls back, "FP stop playing with me..." He nips you again. "Fuck."
"You want me to stop?" He murmured. "I can stop." He pauses and you whine unwillingly. "Just tell me what you want me to do. I'll do it."
"What don't I want you to do might be shorter," you groan. "I want you to... God, I want you."
"Yeah?"
"Fuck of course," you groan. "But, I have to tell you something before." He stops now looking at you confused. "Sweet Pea." He raised a brow now. "Sweet Pea found out. I don't know how but he knows. He made a comment earlier. I mean it wasn't like a tell all comment it was incognito but it was there."
"You chose now to tell me this?"
"Well, I was a little preoccupied. I just didn't want to go further if you think it shouldn't happen," you explain. "If you think that it's too much and we should stop..." You look down at him and swallow a little. You were scared that this was it so you fixed your shirt. "I understand how important it is to you for Jughead not to find out. For the town to no know." He laughed now and you frown. "I understand that you have reputation to hold and I don't want to ruin anything for you."
"Y/N," he sighed as he moved you off of him. You swallow waiting for the bad news to come. "You're right, I don't want Jughead to find out by anyone else. Or by seeing anything. And sure I do think the town wouldn't think highly of me if I came out to be dating someone half my age." He moved to the table sitting on it to face you. "But, I don't care what they think. I care what you think and I want you to be comfortable. I want you to be happy. I don't give a rats ass about any of those people. You don't ruin anything, you make it better for me. You make my life better and I'm not gonna throw this away because someone found out. I'm not leaving until you tell me to." You bite your cheek unsure of what to say. Of course you were ecstatic that this wasn't the end. You loved him and you didn't want to say that because it would be like you were some child. But you did love him and you just weren't sure if he loved you back. At least you weren't sure until now.
"FP," you laugh lightly. "I would never tell you to leave. And I didn't know when to say this or even if I should but... I love you, Jones. And if that makes things different, fuck it, I guess."
"You love me? Are you sure because there's a lot here," he says. "A background. A gang. Two kids. An ex wife."
"I'm sure."
"Okay," he nods. "I love you too, Y/N." You sigh in relief before kissing him again. "Why don't we go to the bedroom? I think there's something waiting for us there."
"I agree," you nod.
