Chapter 16

PARK ROSÉ

I suddenly woke up from a nightmare and instead of the sunshine, cupcakes and rainbows you usually see in the movies, a splitting headache came and greeted me. I looked around and saw the boys and their girls looking worriedly at me.

"What happened? Is it still night time?" I asked, holding my head.

"Yeah. We're still here at Chaeng's building cuz you guys got wild after you drank bottles of Soju while we were gone for a bit." Jeongyeon oppa explained, shaking his head slightly.

"You suddenly screamed noona. Are you okay?" Tzuyu asked.

"Yeah... Just the same nightmare." I whispered.

"The same one?" Dahyun oppa asked, making me nod slowly.

"You and Chaeng have the same nightmares." Jeongyeon oppa muttered, making me look at him.

"Speaking of Chaeng, where is he?" I asked as I looked around for my twin.

The boys looked at each other before pushing Jeongyeon oppa towards me. He sat beside me since I'm here at the end of the bed with noona beside me.

"Chaeng got a call from you know who and decided to go home for a while." he explained softly, making sure I'm the only one that hears it, as I looked at him in horror.

"Do you want me to give you a ride there?" he asked, receiving a nod from me.

He then stood up, followed by me and turned to look at them. He excused the both of us and we headed downstairs and to the parking lot at the back of the cafe.

The ride was quiet as I collected my thoughts about our fucked up father. Oppa was kind enough to not ask about what Chaeng and him talked about since I know what that monster wants from my poor brother.

I opened the door after waving goodbye to oppa and went straight to his room. As I opened the door, I saw him punching his punching bag roughly. I ran to him and hugged his back tight as I tried to calm him down.

"Please stop... Twin is here." I said as I used his nickname eversince we were kids.

He stopped as we just stayed in that position before I turned him around and looked at his knuckles which were already bruised from punching the already worn out bag. I dragged him to his bed and told him I'll just get the first aid kit from the kitchen before I left his room.

I came back with the kit and sat down beside him and treated his knuckles while he spaced out. Something dropped on my the back of my hand that was putting the bandage on his knuckles and I looked up and saw tears sliding down his face. I finished quickly, placed the kit down and gently pulled him for a hug as he hugged me back.

We stayed like that for a few seconds until I pulled away and wiped his tears.

"Twin is here. Always remember that. I'll never leave your side, okay?" I said as I kissed his forehead.

"Okay." he whispered.

"I'll continue my plan and after I do what I need to do, all three of us can live happily." he said as he closed his eyes.

"I'm not stopping you. Out of the three of us, you're the one that's suffering the most." I said as I looked at him.

"I'm sorry I can't do anything to help you." I apologized as I looked down.

"You and mama have done more than enough by not leaving me all alone." he said, making me look at him in confusion.

"You stayed, even when you knew I was acting differently, even when you knew I was starting to be a sadistic monster like him. You never left me, and that's more than enough." he added as he looked at me and smiled.

"You're not like him. You were never born to be like him. Remember that." I paused as I looked at the ceiling.

"You kept on protecting me and mama from him, taking all the pain. Mama blamed herself for putting you into that position and I had to stop her from doing something stupid." I added, making him chuckle at the last part.

"You know that I'll help you in anyway that I can, right?" I asked after a few seconds of silence.

"I know. And this time, I'll actually ask for help." he said, making me look at him again.

"I need you to lend me some money, but don't worry, I'll use it wisely. It's part of it. I found a loophole in dad's company and I'll use it to our advantage." he explained, earning a nod from me.

"I'll send you the money. Any amount."

"Thank you." he said, hugging me tight.

I know your suffering will end soon. And I'll be there to celebrate it with you.

SON CHAEYOUNG

We went back to the building after our little moment and Rosé asked if she could eat here at the cafe for a bit to get a bit of the Soju out of her system, to which I agreed since I was also a bit hungry.

We sat down after getting what we wanted and talked about our business back in the states and my business here.

"You know, since we don't have classes tomorrow... How about we go to Han River?" I asked.

"Really?!" she squealed as she looked at me with wide eyes.

"Yeah. Do wanna tag the others along?" I asked.

"Of course!" she answered cutely.

I guess she never out grew that part of her.

I chuckled as I ruffled her hair making it look like a lion's mane. She looked at me with clear annoyance and placed her food down before fixing what I messed up.

"You know, mama misses you badly, and that's one of the reasons why I decided to come here." she said, taking out her phone.

"How about we take a picture together and send it to her?" she asked.

"Sure. It's only for mama, okay?" I said, making her nod.

We took a selfie and then quickly finished our food before walking back upstairs. I opened the door and saw that they're still awake.

"You calmed down now?" Jeongyeon hyung asked.

"Yeah. Thanks hyung." I said as I sat down on the mattress while Rosé went back and laid down beside noona.

"No problem. We have your back, remember?" he said, ruffling my hair.

Then I remembered what I needed to ask. I looked at Rosé and saw her looking back at me with puppy dog eyes, making me turn to everyone.

"Wanna go to Han River tomorrow?" I asked, hoping they'll say yes.

"Pretty please..." Dahyun hyung said, acting cute, making them look at each other and then at us.

"Sure!" Nayeon noona said, smiling.

"Okay then... What time do you guys wanna go?" I asked.

"Uhm... Early in the morning?" Sana noona said, more like asked.

"That's cool. But how about them?" Tzuyu asked, pointing at the drunkies.

"Don't worry about them. We'll just give them some meds and make them jog over there to make them sweat it out." Dahyun hyung said, making me and the guys raise an eyebrow at him.

"Okay... Why don't we wake up at 7:00, go home first to freshen up and then meet here in the cafe and head off? We'll ask them tomorrow if they wanna tag along." I suggested, earning a series of nods from them.

"Okay, now that that's finished, lights out. It's almost midnight and we need some beauty sleep." Jeongyeon hyung said, standing up and switching the lights off.

"Goodnight people!" Dahyun hyung said before we also said goodnight.

Tomorrow's gonna be another day.
