Chapter 20

SON CHAEYOUNG

I woke up to a white ceiling and looked around to see that I'm in the hospital again. I must be in one of Irene noona's hospitals. I'm a regular here anyway. Nothing new. I also notice Tzuyu sitting on the couch near my bed, playing somthing on his phone.

He must've notice my stare and looked at my direction before standing up and offering me a glass of water.

"Thanks Tzuyu." I said.

"You're welcome. How's your sleep Sleeping Beauty?" he asked, smirking.

"Pretty good. How long was I out?"

"A few hours." he said shrugging.

"What about the others?"

"Oh... They visited an hour ago. Don't worry, everything's fine. You-know-who's here too by the way."

I just hummed in reply as I knew who the person he's talking about. I wonder what happened back there.

Who's handling the shitty company?

"If you're wondering who's handling the company, it's Rosé noona. She volunteered to go and handle everything along with those business men and guards who're involved yesterday and don't worry, Jeongyeon hyung and Dahyun hyung are there with her." he explained.

"What's today?"

"Sunday.", he said.

Figured.

"Are the guards treated? They're innocent to all of this."

"Yep! Irene noona requested some of her dad's doctors and nurses to treat them. They also promised to keep they're mouths shut if anyone asked what happened. Especially the public." he said, going back to the couch.

"I'll sleep for a while hyung. I just waited for you to wake up." he said, earning a nod from me before going to sleep.

After a few minutes of thinking what I'll do next, I reached for my phone and decided to contact them to see what they're doing.

After chatting with them, my eyelids grew heavy but before I could head off to dreamland, the door burst open, waking me and Tzuyu up. We looked at the douche bag and saw Jihyo noona, panting hard as if she ran from someone.

"Hi." me and Tzuyu said.

"Are you boys okay? Does anything hurt? How are you?" she said, hugging Tzuyu first before me and looked us all over.

"Chill noona. We're fine. Just a few cuts and wounds here and there." I said, trying to calm her down.

I noticed Tzuyu signaling me something but before I could make out of what he said, I saw noona look at me with an annoyed expression before looking back at Tzuyu who just facepalmed behind her back.

"Few?! That's your definition of few?!" she shouted, making the both of us cover our ears.

"Oh boy... Here we go again." I heard Tzuyu mutter to himself, going back to the couch and plugging in his headphones.

Now I know what he meant...

"Listen here Chaeyoung, I understand that this is part of all your lives and jobs now, being assassins, business influencers and normal teenagers, but you can't expect me to not get worried about all of you! You're all precious to me! Please don't make me worry again! Understand?!" she said, hugging me tight.

I looked at Tzuyu, asking for help but Yoda just shrugged me off and mouthed I warned you.

"Noona... I'm okay. The important thing is I'm alive. This is just a small wound. I promise I'm okay." I said, rubbing her back.

"I can't promise you that I won't get hurt again, but I can promise you that I'll try and stay alive." I said, pushing a bit and sticking my pinky finger out.

She looked at me, then at my finger before intertwining hers with mine. After that she let go and smiled at me before letting out a deep sigh and went to the couch and sat laid down with her head on Tzuyu's thigh.

"Does the girls know?" she asked.

"Nope. And before you argue, I don't want them to know. I don't want anything bad to happen to them." I said, fiddling with my IV.

"Oh... Okay then. When are you guys planning on telling the girls how you feel?" she asked, changing the topic.

"When all of this are fixed." Tzuyu answered, taking his headphones off.

"I'm sorry for dragging all of you into this." I said.

"Don't worry about it. We're family, remember that." he said, smiling at me, making me smile back.

"Tzuyu... Inform me when you plan on telling Sana noona what you feel." I said.

"Why?" they both asked.

"I plan on telling Mina noona too." I answered, making them look at me with wide eyes.

"Really?!" noona yelled, making me and Tzuyu flinch.

"Calm down noona." Tzuyu said.

"Yes. Really. But after everything's settled." I said before my phone rang, making me answer it, not even bothering to know who called.

[Twin!]

"What?"

[I'm going to the hospital right now with Jeongyeon oppa and Dahyun oppa. By the way, I found out more about that loophole you were talking about. I think he doesn't know it yet.]

"I know he doesn't. Don't tell mama okay?"

[I won't. But... About the loophole... I know you can use it, but how?]

"Some of the employees are backstabbing the old hag and I'm gonna use that as a way to kill two birds with one stone. First, we'll help the backstabbers but not enough to make them succeed but enough for dad to notice, he'll do whatever he wants with them and then he'll ask us for help with the almost bankrupt company and that's the time we'll end him. We have to have an alibi though.", I explained while the two were looking at me with... Worry?

[Yeah. Okay. It think that could work but before we end him, we need to find out the truth. Rumors have been spreading around that he has an illegitimate child out there and that he or she must be a teenager now. We have to take the child under our wing cuz we can't change the fact that we're siblings because of him. The poor kid is innocent and is probably just a mistake.]

After hearing that, anger grew inside of me knowing that he didn't just abuse us, but he also made another mistake he couldn't reverse, adding another victim on the table.

"We'll know the truth and if it is real, then we'll do what you suggested and treat the kid like family. But I won't split the shares. And that's it."

[Fair enough. I have to go now. See ya!]

I hung up after saying the same and tried to calm down. The two just looked at me in shock and walked towards the hospital bed and patted me on my back.

"Can I ask you something?" I asked, looking at them, earning a nod.

"Why didn't the mother kill the child? Put the kid out of it's misery by being that monster's offspring." I added, letting out a cold aura.

"Look hyung, most mother's don't want to kill their child just because it has a demon for a father. Would you have liked it if your mom did that?" Tzuyu asked, making me think about the words I spat.

"Every mother has that special bond with their kid that no one can change. Maybe she wanted the child to live and see the beauty of the world and maybe the child doesn't even know its father. Only the mother knows the right answer." noona said.

"I just... I don't know if I can still keep my sanity if the rumors are true." I said.

"Then we'll find out." they both said.

I just hope it isn't.
