Somebody That I Used To Know

Riker P.O.V

I was a little angered by the fact that it was actually a good song. I was also angered at the look Ashley was giving Ross. I clicked the intercom button on the outside panel. "Its a good song. Its getting late so I think we will work on it tomorrow." Ross looked up from his guitar. He walked out of the studio with Ryland following. "Fine." He walked up the stairs. "Awkwarrrrrrrd." Ratliff sang and Rydel nudged him.

"Bed time!" Rocky clapped his hands and picked up Catherine then ran up the stairs. I let Ratliff and Rydel walk in front of me because I had to shut the lights off downstairs. "Riker." Ashley asked, waiting at the bottom of the stairs.  "Yes?" "I love you." I shut the final light off and walked up to her. "I love you too."

We walked upstairs to my room. Ashley and her mom were still in a fight so I let her sleep with me. "Happy Thanksgiving kids!" Mom yelled upstairs. "Happy Thanksgiving!" Rocky screamed back goofy with Catherine laughing soon afterwards.

I let Ash borrow some clothes. I changed too and we laid underneath the blanket with her head against my chest. "Babe." She began. "Mhm." I answered, dozing off. "You go back on tour in a week and..." I was totally awake now. "And what?" "Maybe I shouldn't go with you." She sighed. "What? Why?" I worried.  "Cause Ross is making everything awkward and I don't want to get in the middle of the band." "No. No. No. Your not getting in the way of anything. You're my lucky charm and I need you on that tour. And.." I laughed then continued "I cant risk anyone taking you." I could feel her laugh. "Are you sure?" She questioned. "Im positive." I kissed her before falling asleep.

Ashley P.O.V

I woke up to see Riker was missing. He always does that. I walked downstairs where Stormie was passing out waffles from the pan. Someone was missing. "Where's Ratliff?" I asked, sitting next to Rocky. "Went to see the parents." Rocky licked his fingers. Ross was missing too but I didn't feel comfortable about asking. Riker walked in to the room from downstairs.  "Your up!" Riker smiled and sat next to me. "Why were you downstairs?" I asked. "Finishing the song with Ross." Man, today was weird. Ross walked up from downstairs shortly after and looked at the full dining table and sat at the kitchen counter. "Uh guys." I said loudly. Everyone looked at me, including Stormie, besides Ross who didn't flinch. Mark walked in from the bathroom as I began talking. "Could we keep our engagement's a secret? I don't want fans getting mad or anything." "Of course!" Mark answered and pretended to zip his mouth as everyone agreed. "Thanks."

I was into my second bite of waffles when Stormie said "OH Ashley! I forgot to tell you that your mom wants to talk to you and Cat after breakfast." I gulped. "Well there goes my appetite." I pushed my plate away. "What's wrong?" Rydel asked. "Shes gonna kill me." I answered. "Ill protect you." Ryland offered. "Really?" I was willing to take the offer. "No." Riker ordered Ryland.

"Well I'm just gonna go there now. Ill bring your clothes back after." I promised Riker. "Ill go too." Cat got up.

We walked to our front door. "I cant." I turned away. "You can." Catherine grabbed my arm and we walked in. "Mom?" I yelled. "Here." She yelled from the living room. Me and cat sat on the couch across from her. "I still don't approve, but I like the Lynchs'." She began. "But you MUST finish school and I won't let you marry until your 20." "No." I stated. Cat gave me a confused look. "I appreciate it but once I'm 18 I'm making my own decisions.  I love Riker and Catherine loves Rocky.  That's how its always been and how it always will be." My mom stared at me. I could feel her shooting knives into my skull with her eyes.

"And what about Ross?" She questioned.  "Excuse me?" "You know this is killing him." "Uh." "Me and Stormie know more than you think." She sipped her coffee. "I know more than you think too!" I stood up. "Like what?" She said, still sitting. "Like how you planned for us to be next to the Lynchs' again!" "What?" Cat now stood up too.

Mom sighed. "Okay okay. You caught me. I knew how much you were hurting over them. I kept in touch with Mark and Stormie the whole time. They were worried for you too. As soon as their neighbors moved out, they told me and I instantly bought the place. I just didn't realize you'd get this wrapped up in the guys." "Stormie and Mark know about what happened?" I felt light headed and sat down. Catherine sat down too. "Yes. But they don't think of you any differently." Mom said. She continued "I just want to make sure you truly think this is a good idea." I nodded my head understandingly. "Can we go to our rooms?" I asked. "Sure. Im finished." My mom answered and me and Cat began for the stairs when my phone buzzed.

Laura Marano: "Congrats on the engagement!  @riker @aaashley & @cat! @rocky"

Raini Rodriguez: "perfect people perfectly together!  Congrats! ♡ @aaashley @riker and @rocky @cat!"

Calm Worthy: "@rocky @cat! and @riker @aaashley finally! Love ya guys!"

Catherine check her notifications too and we looked up at each other in horror. I texted Laura.

Me: hey Laura.

Laura: Hey! Congrats!

Me: Thanks!.. So how did you find out?

Laura: Ross posted it?

I checked Ross's Twitter and saw the nasty hate comments begin. I dropped my phone on the ground and ran next door.
