At last, we've arrived at Gaushorn. By the entrance, we said our goodbyes to Jody and Spencer and also thanked them for dropping us off before continuing to their hometown. As a measure of goodwill, I had left them with half of my enchanted magic crystals, which they could use for their farming.
I have imparted some of the things we did at Dalio to them so that they could utilize the crystals to their fullest potential and maximize their production.
Matthew and I entered the main gate, the security here is quite lax but it's better than the rest who had nothing. They let me enter without any problems when I showed them my temporary adventures card and by the guise that I was Matthew's escort.
The difference of this city was night and day compared to others. The streets were all well paved and the walls from the main gate stretched as far as the eyes could see. Also, noticeably there were no signs of beggars which could say a lot of good things about the city.
According to Jody, Gaushorn is known to be managed by a noble whose family have hailed from humble beginnings. So it is most likely the reason why this place seemed more developed than others.
I rented a small pull cart which I saw at the entrance that also came with a horse. The total amount was 150 silver and that was for the whole week which is reasonably cheap. The reason that I rented this is because the other half of the crystals are in my possession and you wouldn't expect me to carry all of them now would you?
Sure, with the help of the wind crystal I could carry them all with one hand. However, it would certainly look weird if people saw me juggling all those sacks which would get me unwanted attention lol.
An hour into the city Matthew and I are scouting the place out for a place we could stay. I had him sit atop of the cart to deter thieves as I pulled it from alleyway to alleyways scanning for hotels and inns. The weight of cart with him on it isn't difficult to pull, as I secretly used the wind crystal which made it feel like you were tugging along a toy wagon lol.
Whilst I was busy looking I felt a sharp pain on my foot.
"Argh?! Goddamn!!" [Angelica]
Matthew was startled when I suddenly dropped the cart, but he immediately recovered and checked to see if I was okay.
(Neigh!)
I glanced to see who was the culprit and saw there was a horse by my side that is walking back.
"You, there! Watch where you're going!"
A coachman shouted at me who was on a carriage. I was about to shout back at him when I noticed that I swerved out my lane.
"Sorry." [Angelica]
I apologized to end things quickly and moved to the corner to inspect my injury.
Ah... frik... it hurts... I mumbled as I removed the shoe and saw that the foot was a bit swollen, it had this huge bruise as if someone stamped a U-shape on it.
"A-are you alright?!"
"Yaw?! Ow-ow-ow!" [Angelica]
Before I had the chance to heal I heard a woman's voice. She exited the carriage and all of a sudden held my foot.
"It is okay ma'am we can take care of it." [Matthew]
"No, we are also at fault here. Please get on and we will get her treated."
