"You love?" Drew asked.

Ash thought about it for awhile.

He loved Dawn. He could talk to her about anything. She listened to everything he had to say about his gym battles and problems with Serena. He even felt comfortable with her.

But...

He loved Serena too. Sure, she wasn't always perfect. But, there were times she did make him smile. He really loved her confidence even after her showcase. She may have broken down but she got back up and showed that she was ready for anything.

"...Both?" He replied, unsure of his answer.

Drew widened his eyes at him and smack his hand against his head. This guy is kidding.. right? Drew thought to himself as he kept his cool and placed a hand on Ash's shoulder. "Dude, if I can say just one teeny tiny thing."

"Yeah?" Ash asked.

Drew took a deep breath, "good luck." He said with pursed lips as he patted Ash's shoulder.

"Wait, what?"

"Dude. I really don't know what to tell you." Drew said.

"Come on. Have you ever been in love with two people before?" Ash asked.

Drew furrowed his eyebrows then looked back at the Pokémon center and saw May and Dawn talking. He sighed as he dragged Ash by his shirt collar to somewhere far from the Pokémon center. They sat down on a nearby bench.

"I haven't told anyone this but... I was in love with two girls at the same time." Drew said.

"Really? I'd have to assume May is one of them. But, who was the other one?"

Drew crossed his arms and looked away from him. "It's Dawn."

Ash's eyes widened in shock. Drew was.. in love with Dawn before? Well, they were traveling back in Hoenn for a bit. I just didn't expect it at all. He thought.

"Don't you even think about telling May or Dawn. If you do, you won't be waking up tomorrow."

Ash held his hands up in defense and promised he wouldn't tell them. "But, why Dawn?" He asked.

"That's what I asked myself too. Truth be told, Dawn wasn't the type of girl I'd go for. But, our time in Hoenn made me fall for her. When she stepped on the contest stage, I felt as though I saw someone different. She told me she felt a lot more confident being in contests, even if she loses." He explained.

"Then what happened?" Ash continued asking.

"It was the day of the grand festival and she had lost to Soledad. But still, she always wore a smile on her face. She told me she was going to Kanto to compete in Pokémon contests there and hopefully meet a certain someone."

"Is it.. the boy she likes?" Ash said.

Drew closed his eyes and leaned back against the bench. "Yeah. But, Wallace came up to her and told her about Pokémon Showcases here in Kalos. So she decided that Kanto could wait awhile and so could the person."

It must be Gary then... Ash thought.

"Well, she's lucky to have met up with him again." Ash mentioned.
