Alex's pov
You know, heartbreak is a lot different than I ever thought it would feel like. In the movies, or tv shows, when the guy breaks the girl's heart, but ends up sweeping her back off of her feet? Or the other version, where she meets someone new that will put all of her broken pieces back together?
Well, this is reality. Instead of being like the girls on tv who eat ice cream and adopt 87 cats after a difficult breakup, I joined my father's gang.
We are now currently in California, we moved two days after school was out. Two days after he shattered my heart into a million pieces.
Apparently there is a large mission to deal with here, Larce said he needed any available personnel.
He wanted me to see first-hand everything that goes on with the gang, and what they have to face to prepare me for future 'missions' when I'm ready. Whatever that means.
Larce managed to get this giant house, or mansion I should say, in the middle of nowhere. A majority of us stay here, or will be living here for the time being until we annihilate whatever threat he is so hell-bent on.
There is a training room downstairs, a weapons room, and his study where he meets with us when he needs to have serious business talks or whatever.
It has been two weeks since we've gotten here. I'm in my new room. Larce gave me the room with the best view, the most space, and as he said the comfiest bed. I guess being his daughter comes with a few perks.
Now, you may be wondering. 'how could you just leave the others behind, you know the ones that didn't royally betray you leaving your heart in the dirt?'
Fair question. I made a vow with myself while I was driving to Larce's house that night. Never will I ever, give someone even the slightest chance to hurt me. I love Grayson, Jackson, and Landon with all of my heart. Oh, Elena too. But I also loved a certain someone or multiple someones with all I had, and look where it landed me.
Back to the room situation. I haven't left my room since we've gotten here. I've barely eaten, and I definitely haven't been working out like I used to. I've been losing weight, more than I should be. I don't even recognize myself anymore. Can you believe one simple person can have that much of an impact on you? Me either.
I heard a knock at my door and I closed my journal sliding it under my blanket. "Come in." I tried to raise my voice so whoever it was could hear me, but it came out a raspy mess.
Larce opened my door slowly walking in. He sat at the edge of my bed and studied my face. "When's the last time you've eaten?" He asked, tilting his head to the side. I honestly don't even know the answer to that question. I don't even have an appetite anymore.
"Last night." I responded looking over at him. I'm lying, but who cares. "Mhm." He hummed sarcastically. "I just don't feel well, that's all." I tried to crack a smile, so maybe he will leave.
Since I've gotten here it's like he has been a different person, a dad per se. "You know, some of the gang is still back home. I don't mind sending one of them to kick Eth-" He began and my heart clenched. I felt my face scrunch up and my chest turn into a knot.
"Don't speak his name." I held my hand up, preventing him from speaking further. He put his hands up in defense and zipped his lips. "But no, I'm totally fine." I added.
