chapter | twenty three

Alex's pov

"I still can't believe you two slept together." Elena laughed beside me. "I can!" hazel started, "the sexual tension between them in our house could have been cut with a knife, I swear." hazel laughed and I smacked her arm. 

"So are you two a thing now?" Elena asked and I shook my head. "nope, it was kind of just a 'friends with benefits' moment. one time thing, no strings attached." I tried explaining it but it just sounds worse every time I do. 

"speaking of Mr friends with benefits, where is he?" Elena asked me as she leaned on my locker. "he had some type of field mission, he won't be here." I responded and she nodded.

"I can't believe you posted that on Instagram though." hazel laughed in disbelief and I giggled. "what? just wanted to put a definite seal on me moving on ya know?" I laughed and looked in the other direction where Ethan was standing with his friends.

Today it was our old friend group though, not any add ons. even Landon was there, which meant Hagen had to be nearby. I wonder if he came back to school this year. im gonna ask him.

"do you know if Hagen came back to school?" I asked hazel and she shrugged. "im gonna go ask Landon." I added and she furrowed her brows. "why would he know?" Elena asked and I smirked. "because he and Hagen are secretly dating." I whispered and their jaws fell open.

"two hot guys, way unexpected. I love it." Elena laughed. "ill be right back." I laughed turning around. "don't start a fight!" Elena yelled and I laughed at her response. 

I made it to where they were standing and the way Ethan and Grayson were staring at me, gave me goosebumps. if looks could kill...

"hey, Lan." I smiled and he smiled back widely. "is Hagen coming back to school?" I whispered, and he looked behind him to make sure the guys didn't hear him.

"no, I don't think so. he has too much going on with the gang." he looked a little upset and I rubbed his arm a little. 

"morning." Jackson smiled at me and I wrapped my arms around him giving him a tight hug. "morning jack." I laughed and he let go of me. 

"are you going to try and sleep with him too or?" Ethan spoke in a dickish tone pointing between me and jack and I rolled my eyes.

"I mean you're bringing a whole new definition to 'gang bang'. do you just choose a new guy every week?" he crossed his arms at me. I know he's just doing it out of jealousy so it's not bothering me. 

"any option is better than you Dolan." I snapped and he smirked. "if you were anyone else, I might believe that statement." he retorted and Grayson laughed making me glare at him.

"can't you just leave her alone? you guys are being so childish." Jackson spoke from beside me and I quietly giggled. 

"jack if you want her to sleep with you that bad, all you have to do is ask." Grayson tilted his head to the side mocking me and I shook my head at his sudden personality change from when I knew him. Jackson breathed in sharply and I saw his fist tense up. 

"no jack it's fine. once he realizes what he says and does no longer effects me he will leave me alone." I tried relaxing him.
