chapter | thirty four

Alex's pov

I walked out of school and saw Theo and walked straight for him. "did you drive here?" I asked and he nodded. "take me home." i responded and he looked at me weirdly before I began walking towards his car.

"be careful." Theo warned and I rolled my eyes and walked through the door. "larce." I yelled and my voice echoed throughout the house. Theo looked at me with an angry look but I Ignored it. 

"it's about time you found your way back." I saw larce appear from his study and I rolled my eyes. "lets get one thing straight larce, I am not your prisoner. and when I do something to upset you, that's on ME. do not take it out on anyone except me." I said sternly.

he laughed in response and I glared at him. "I admire your bravery." he laughed and I crossed my arms. "larce I'm done here, I'm not going to be apart of this, nor am I going to work for you any longer. first, you keep my mom from me, then you lock me up? I'm finished, I don't want any part of this mortel shit anymore." I half yelled and his smile fell.

"if you leave, I might have to... retaliate," he spoke as I walked towards the stairs. I stopped in my tracks and turned around. "what? like how you retaliated by making me and Ethan break up? how you threatened my life so he would break my heart? yeah larce, I've seen your true colors and believe me they're prominent." I responded and he looked at me with anger written on his face.

"so go ahead larce. retaliate, give it your best shot. but I swear to you, if you hurt anyone that I love, I will come for you. don't think that I won't larce, I got my spite, my drive, and my temper from you. I wouldn't test it." I walked right up to his face as I finished my sentence. 

I turned around and walked towards the stairs. I made it up to my room and began packing my things.

I looked at the clock, it was 6:50. I have to be at Ryan's by 7, im not going to make it in time. I finished packing all of my things in a matter of 4 hours. Theo loaded my things into his car and I looked at the house one last time before getting into his passenger seat. he sped off and I didn't look back. 

I walked up to Ryans's door and knocked. all of my bags were sitting on the side of his house now, I don't exactly know where im going to be staying yet. 

I looked at my clock, it was 7:30. Elena opened the door and looked at me with a mad look. I smiled and held up the cake I had bought last minute.

she stepped aside and let me in. I walked into the kitchen where Ryan was sitting and set the cake down on the counter. "hey Alexandra." he smiled hugging me. "hey ry." I smiled back. he grabbed his plate and sat down at the table. 

Elena handed me a plate of food and I sat down in front of them. "how are you two doing?" I asked looking at both of them. Ryan smiled looking at Elena and she smiled back at him. "I take that as very good." I laughed and so did Ryan.

"Elena sort of moved in while you were gone." he responded poking at his food. "no way?" I asked surprised. "yeah, I meant to tell you but there was just so much going on-" she tried explaining.

"el it's fine. I'm happy for you two." I smiled widely. "so Ryan, I don't mean to rain on this parade but I need to tell you something." I put my fork down and he looked up nervously.

"I left the mortel's." I said after a moment and Ryan almost choked. "he will kill you Alex." he said sternly and I shook my head. "no, he won't. before anything else I am his daughter and his only child, he won't." I reassured him.

"Are you sure he won't do anything?" Elena asked, referencing everyone else. "I mean I can't see into the future but I think my threat reached him." I nodded looking down, and I heard 'mhms' coming from them.

After dinner, I walked towards the door with Ryan beside me. I said bye to Elena, she said she didn't feel good so she went to bed early. 

"are you sure you don't need somewhere to stay? this will always be your home." he rubbed my arm and I smiled. "I'm sure Ryan. I can take care of myself, but if I need anything I'll call. I expect the same." I pulled him into a hug and he hugged back tighter.

"I love you so much," he whispered. "I love you too Ryan." I responded pulling away. "come back and visit soon, please." he said, almost begging. "of course." I nodded, walking out the door. 

I honestly would move back home, I would love to live there with Ryan again. but I don't want to intrude on what he and Elena have going for them. it was my decision to walk out, I can't just barge back in on them. 

I walked for about a mile, just enjoying the night's air. It helped clear my head, which I really needed. I picked up my phone and began dialing Ethan's number.

"Hello?" he answered. "Hey, Ethan." I spoke softly. "is everything okay?" he asked lightly. "do you have any extra rooms in your house?" I trailed off looking at the concrete. I didn't hear a response from him, just silence on the other line.

"Yeah Alex. uh there's an empty room downstairs," he responded slowly. "I know this is going to be out of nowhere, and you can totally say no. but I was wondering if I could stay with you. just until I can get on my feet and get my own place or something." I asked nervously. there was silence on the other line again, which made my heartbeat quicken.

"where should I pick you up?" he asked, making a smile appear on my lips. "the corner of Oak street," I responded, before hanging up.
