 Alex's pov

its been about an hour of me just sitting here, thinking about what all is happening and what to do. the door opened once more, but it was another man instead of the woman. I automatically stood up against the wall, in case he was like the other one.

"don't worry, im not going to hurt you." he held up his hands walking around the dead body in front of him.

"you're going to a different room, it's time." he spoke grabbing my arm gently placing a rope around them. I tried pulling away but the rope was too tight. "just for safe measure." he reassured me and I rolled my eyes.

he placed a black cloth-like bag over my head and grabbed my arm leading me somewhere. we walked for a few minutes before I heard another door open. he placed me on the floor and tore off the black cloth covering my face.

my eyes adjusted to the bright lights as he walked out. "Alex?" I heard a voice I haven't heard in years. I felt like I could start crying again, I didn't want to turn around.

I turned slowly and saw my mother sitting there. she had bruises on her face and her hands were tied super tight. "mom?" I said as though it was a question. I crawled over to her quickly and hugged her to the best of our ability. I heard her begin to cry on my shoulder.

she pulled away and looked at my face, with tears streaming down hers. "you have grown into such a beautiful young woman." she cried and I nodded. "I've missed it all." she shook her head studying me.

her face suddenly went blank. "honey, why are you here? this isn't your fight you shouldn't be here." she said hurriedly. "momma this is my fight. I joined the mortel's, and I heard that you were here so I was going to try and save you." I explained and she shook her head.

"no baby you shouldn't be here. they will kill you without blinking," she said as another tear strolled down her face. "I don't care what happens to me, mom. I decided that when I walked in here. now, why are you here?" I asked her and she looked away.

I remember a while back larce told me he had her in a safe place, probably meaning a hiding spot that no one, not even me could know about.

"I was bouncing from place to place so no one would find me. larce was trying to keep me safe and manage the mortel's at the same time, I think it all became too much. I ended up getting caught by these people, your dad's top rival gang. they're going to use me to bait him here or kill me as revenge." she explained and I shook my head. "I won't let that happen."

"I don't know how you got wrapped up in this so fast. I told him at all cost keep you out of it but that son of a bitch did the exact opposite," she said between gritted teeth.

"if we make it out of here, we're going far away from all of this so you can live, I promise." she held our tied up hands.

"we will make it out of here," I reassured her. the door swung open and that women appeared once more, along with larce.

she stood there strong and tall while he had a white casted look on his face. "I can't believe the larce ekon is back in front of my eyes after all these years." the woman crossed her arms smiling at him but his attention was on us.

"but of course she has your attention. she always did, didn't she." she rolled her eyes, they all have history I can tell.
