Alex's pov

I leaned off of his door and ran straight into something. I don't know the house that well but I know there isn't a wall in front of his room.

I stepped back and saw Jordyn standing in front of me. "why are you awake?" I asked and he crossed his arms.

"Why are you walking out of Theo's room at almost 3 am?" he asked with a mad expression written on his face. "it's not like that Jordyn I swear. he was having a bad dream, I heard him yell, that's it." I explained running my fingers through my hair.

he nodded sarcastically and I rolled my eyes. "why are you even here? why don't you just go back to your own house?" I asked frustrated with his sudden big brother act. "I could ask you the same thing Alexandra." he responded coldly and walked in the other direction.

3 days later.

"Tomorrow's the big day!" hazel ran into my room and I pulled the blanket back over my face. "the fact that you're excited about going to school makes me want to strangle you." I replied and she tore the blanket off of me.

"rude." she faked being mad. "now it's time to pick out our first-day outfits." she strutted over to my closet and I sat up.

"I totally have an outfit in mind for you, and to my surprise, you have everything for it in here." she exclaimed after a few minutes.

she ran out of my closet with her arms full. "first the top, it's a simple black cropped tank top. its a little ripped at the bottom, but that goes with your whole emo-ish look now." she started and I scoffed. she giggled at my reaction to her calling me 'emo-ish'

"then, I have this really cute leather ish skirt to go with it." she held up a pretty skirt, except it was really short. "my school doesn't have a dress code and I still wouldn't wear that." I shook my head.

"what about with this underneath." she smirked holding up fishnet tights. "okay, that's kind of a vibe." I agreed standing up. now, I have these red semi heels. they add a pop of color so you don't look fully gothic." she teased and I pushed her playfully to the side.

"im going to go to my room and spend hours finding my outfit." she put the full outfit on my bed and walked towards my door. "hey hazel," I spoke making her turn around.

"thank you." I spoke again. she nodded smiling and walked out.

11 pm

I walked out of my room and stood in front of Theo's door. I knocked twice and I heard a response from the other side of the door. "come in."

I opened the door slowly and closed it behind me. "hey." he looked up from whatever he was writing in. "hey." I responded quietly.

"Why aren't you in bed? the first day of school is tomorrow." I asked, saying the last part with fake enthusiasm. "the same reason you aren't. nerves are bad I guess." he shrugged. he was trying not to show that he was nervous but I felt it radiating off of him.

"well, I just wanted to come in here and tell you goodnight. ill see you in the morning Andrews." I smiled faintly turning on my heel, walking back towards his door.

"Hey, Alex." he spoke again as I reached the door handle. I turned back around and stood up. "thanks for- um. thank you for the-." he struggled to find words, and his face began turning red.

I walked towards him and stood directly in front of him. I leaned up and kissed him on his cheek. "you're welcome." I responded, and he smiled faintly.

I walked out of his room and back into mine. I laid in my bed and began creating scenarios in my head about any possible issue that may come my way tomorrow. I attempted to push it to the back of my mind so I could get any form of sleep.

-

I woke up to my alarm blaring, and the sun just barely peeking through the blinds. I rolled over annoyed and sat up, now awake.

I have about an hour and a half before I have to leave the house. hazel insisted I try with my appearance today. she already picked out my outfit so all I have to do is shower, makeup, and hair.

I showered real quick and blow-dried my hair. I looked at myself in the mirror, seeing my new pink faded tips on my hair, and the ring in my nose.

I like the new me, way more than the old Alex. I walked to the big vanity to the left of my room and sat down. I took out my makeup and went to work.

I tend to go more towards natural makeup. I used a little concealer, did my eyebrows a little, added some light eyeshadow and mascara, finally I highlighted. I looked at myself in the mirror and forced a smile.

I walked towards my closet and grabbed the outfit hazel picked out and put every piece on. I feel confident in it, especially the shoes. I look kind of like the black heart emoji came to life, but I don't mind it.

finally, I walked to the back of my closet and studied my mortel jacket hanging up. I took it off of the hanger and slipped in over each arm. I looked in the mirror and didn't have to fake my smile this time.

I grabbed my bow and arrows and a bag for them. I know its just school, but you can never be too safe. they can fit in my locker anyway. ill tell hazel and Theo to pick their weapons and do the same, just to be on the safe side.

I grabbed my bag with all the books I needed inside. I walked towards my bedroom door, turning to look at my room one more time before closing my door behind me.

today is going to be a long day.
