Sarah was shoved against a locker forcefully, breath knocked out of her almost instantly.

Jack was on the other side of the school, holding hands with a boy and talking to the rest of the football team.

Rose and the Doctor had their backs together, one hand locked with the

other, and guns pointed at a group of aliens.

Sure, it was a messed up family. A pansexual son, grunge daughter, half-alien dad, and a mother who wasn't in her real world.

But they still loved each other. They still fought and laughed and cried. They had the closest bond. To an outsider it was a perfect family; they still had ups and downs.

When Sarah died her hair blue for the first time with no warning; Rose laughed as the Doctor sulked and her brother high-dived her.

When Jack came out, they all congratulated him.

When Rose lost her third child they all cried.

It was a family, a family that could feel each other when they were scared, in danger, happy, sad, angry. They all knew when to be a shoulder to cry on or when to stay out of a room.

It was a family.

And it was theirs.
