Looking Through the Stars

Storms

Rose started cooking particularly early since it had began to rain. Which would lead to storms, which would lead to a power outage. Living in the States for a summer was interesting. Everyone in the south was as kind as possible, or they were rude as possible. All around they were willing to help, even at the simplest of things. The Doctor had left to go "Watch the rain come in."

Aka

Go walk around in the rain and try to count all the raindrops. Rose never quite understood why he did this, but it calmed him down. When the first flash of light struck outside a squill came from the back room. Rose waited for four year old Sarah Jane to come toddling out of her room, but she didn't. Rose brushed it off, she was growing out of the fear (Even though Rose herself hadn't quite gotten over it.)

She nearly jumped out of her skin when the rumble of thunder shook the small house. No noise came from the kids, making her suspicious as ever. She decided to wait until it got uncomfortably quiet, the thunder had seem to fade away as she began to worry even more. She put in the chips and walked into the back room.

There Rose found eleven year old Jack holding Sarah in his arms with a blanket wrapped over both of them. Sarah's head lolled to the side when Jack looked up from the window and to his mum.

"She was scared of the storms, so I decided to protect her." He whispered.

Rose smiled and muttered to herself, "Just like your father."
