Colton Haynes as Devlin De Luca

::heart throbs::

Devlin's POV

I thought I had life by the balls. Everything figured out and no one could tell me anything that I didn't already know.

Well, I am here to tell you, you gotta be ready for anything. Because everything you thought you knew about your life, your closest friends, even about your very own nature, can be completely and utterly set on its ass when you least expect it.

The day it happened to me, was just a regular day, or so I thought. It was about a month into the summer, football practice had already begun. I was in practice with my best friend Michael. I noticed that he had been acting strange all day.

His distracted weird mood ended up pissing off the coach, and of course, I had to open my big mouth and defend him, so that meant that we were the last two off the field by at least a good hour or more due to having "earned" ourselves some extra suicide runs.

When we finally finished and managed to drag our exhausted selves back into the empty locker room, it was pitch black inside, Michael stopped dead in his tracks and peered in suspiciously.

"Great, some jackass took it upon himself to be 'mister helpful' and turn off the lights," I grumbled angrily, I glanced at Michael but already knew better and he arched his eyebrow at me as if to say. 'You are kidding right?', Then shook his head and waved his hand out towards the empty dark locker room, shooing me in while wearing a 'don't even bother asking' look on his face.

Irritated, I stomped off into the creepy, pitch-black locker room by myself, leaving Michael at the lighted entrance, mumbling to myself about having to do everything all the time. I ended up finding the light switch right away, it was just outside the coach's office and in less than twenty minutes we were out of our gear, showered and getting ourselves put back together at our lockers. Michael had been acting more off than usual all day, and now he was jumpy and shuffling around like a crackhead fidgeting for a fix.

I eyed him again for like, the thousandth time today. I wanted to just ask what the fuck was wrong but knew better, that would just freak his crazy ass out when he was nervous like this.

Michael, my best friend and companion since grade school, he had always been on the more sensitive side, but on the days when he was like this, it usually meant he was on the edge of totally losing his shit about something. And I had found through knowing him for years that pushing him was a sure way to get the cray-cray bomb to go off. it was better to let him work himself up to it in his own time, then diffuse him, after I knew exactly what I was dealing with. So I just kept my trap shut. Let him tell me whatever it was when he worked out whatever crazy was rolling around in that head of his.

I heard Michael take a deep breath and knew something was coming, but damn, I had no clue how much my life was about to change.

Out of the blue, my best friend and companion suddenly turned to me, baldly blurting out, " Dude I'm gay."

I gave myself props for being world-class at keeping the surprise off of my face. Even if I was really fucking surprised and maybe more than just a little skeptical. OK, a lot skeptical. I wasn't sure if he was trying to prank me or not and there was no way in hell he was getting one over on me. The little creep probably had a hidden video feed somewhere. Keeping that in mind,

I turned to him and smirked," And you think that standing outside the locker room showers, alone after hours, naked and wet wearing nothing but a towel was perfect timing to let me in on this little revelation of yours?" I laughed and smiled slyly, calling his bluff.
