Shortly after staying with Hadley, she had to go to a hospital for a rash, so I stayed with Roger and my friends for a while. Roger use to be my softball coach when I was in t-ball, and I saw him as a dad. He's the type of dad you can be real with. He had a big personality. His girl friend, Mia, was super sweet. She drove me to school, and sometimes she'd pick me up or Roger. Some days I waited till 5:30p.m. because I had to stay after school. I was sitting in the hall one day while I was waiting, and this little boy came up to me. He didn't speak English. He took my hand and took me down the hall. We walked into the office and he pointed and waved at Coach Heath, the principal. The little guy wanted me to wave and say hi. That led to a conversation. He then took me to Mrs. Gibson and Mrs. Alice. Also led to another conversation. In the middle of us talking, the guy pulled me and walked me out of the office.

The kid had to leave, and when I'm talking to people I don't like to be interrupted or walk out, so I went to Mrs. Gibson and Mrs. Alice to apologize. Mrs. Alice was about to leave, so I talked to her first. "Hey, what's up?" She asked. "Oh, nothing. I just came to apologize for just leaving while talking," I said. "It's okay. No worries." She walked out, and I went to Mrs. Gibson. "Lindsay, hey!" She exclaimed. "Have a seat." A seat? Did I get in trouble. I sat down down and I apologized for leaving. After a few minutes, she broke the silence. "A friend of yours talked about you earlier," she said. I put my head on my palm. "Oh, boy." Mrs. Gibson laughed. "They were just telling me stories that were fun to listen too." We talked about the stories and I left.

Roger picked me up, and Elly was so happy to see that I was there. Once we got to the house, Elly and I went on a hike. We went far, so we decided to turn around. Not far behind, we heard a branch break. Elly turned. "Something probably broke if a tree, or an animal stepped on it," I said. We continued to walk, and Elly turned around again. "Did you hear that?" She asked. "Actually did you see it too?" I gave her a puzzled look. "You're wack. I didn't hear or see anything," I said as o laughed. "It's not funny. I saw someone." I rolled my eyes. "It's probably-" I was interrupted by a loud thump to our right. "Um, yeah okay. I heard that. Now let's go." We began to walk faster than what we were. "Hey!" Came a voice from behind. We turned out to see nobody. We continued on and there was the voice again. Hearing the voice get closer, we didn't bother to even turn around. We ran and didn't stop till we bumped into a person. Roger. "Y'all didn't scream or anything. Geez," he said. Elly and I laughed and felt relieved.

After supper Elly and I went upstairs to watch movies. We watched at least three movies before going to sleep. Once we fell asleep, we woke up to hear Roger at the door. "I have cookies," he said. Elly and I looked at each other and laughed once again. He gave us a cookie and left the room as we thanked him. After that, we were asleep.

We were up at 6a.m., and we left at 6:45a.m. for school. Mia took my school. On the way there, we talked about guys, and I opened up to her enough to tell her about the guys. Roger knew about the guys. My dad was worried about me going to Roger's because he didn't want me to accuse Roger of sexual assault. I knew Roger well enough to know he wouldn't try anything, and I knew myself well enough to not even lie about something like that.

I got to school, and on my way up the slanted hill, I slipped. It was wet and muggy out. I walked into the office and said hi to everyone in there. I was still behind on school work, so I went to a couple of classes in the morning to get help on my make up work. I was feeling very happy and good. It almost felt as if I was lying to myself. I kept in touch with Kimmy to see how Hadley was doing. I had multiple off days, but I didn't feel like talking about it with anyone.
