Chapter 4: Glass Case of Emotion pt 2

//continuation of Blaney's POV//

Once we wrapped up our filming for Glass Case we all stood around talking with Julia before she had to leave and start getting back on the road soon heading back to Charlotte. Kim, Chuck, and I all took turns telling Julia how good she was and that she can come back on the show whenever she wants to because she was fantastic for it being her first time on air like that. We also gave her all of our phone numbers If she wanted to do follow up interviews with us or if she wants to call into the show like Chase did today. I also thought to myself how she kept it together when we began talking to Chase on the phone, if any girl was in her shoes they would have all been freaking out. Kim and Chuck began to say their goodbyes to Julia and then to myself before they left MRN for the day, finally it was now just the two of us and I could finally tell her about Chase's text. 

Conversation between Julia and Blaney 

Blaney: Hey Julia. I just want to say that you truly did awesome today and we all loved having you here adding character to the podcast. Sometimes in my opinion it can get kinda boring with just the three of us talking. 

Julia: Aww thank you so much Ryan that means a lot to me. I was a little bit nervous before we got started but once I met y'all I began to feel much better because I had nothing to worry about. 

Blaney: You are so welcome. You shouldn't be nervous at all because we could all immediately tell that you have a knack for doing this. I'm glad we got to have Chase talk to us also, so technically the viewers watching the podcast will notice we had two special guests on the show today. 

Julia: I've come to realize that I really do have a passion for reporting and interviewing especially involving the sports world. Yeah I really enjoyed getting to talk to your friend Chase, he sounds like he would be a lot of fun to get to know. I can't wait for Nascar to post this link so I can share the podcast with everyone. 

Blaney: Speaking of my friend Chase after we got off the phone from talking he sent me a message and was asking me if I could give him your number. I wanted to make sure that it was completely okay with you first before I did anything. 

Julia: Thank you for making sure that it was okay with me first. Since I talked to Chase today on the phone with y'all it will be fine for you to give my number out to him. This will be convenient for all of us when it comes to y'all being at the track in a few weeks and I can just send y'all a text if y'all want to be apart of whatever I'm gonna be doing that race weekend and on race day. 

Blaney: No problem I mean what are friends for anyways. I'll send him a text later with your contact information, and then I'll let you know when I have done so. Well I gotta get going back home to Sturgil, but thank you so much for being a guest today on the show. I look forward to us all meeting up again in Charlotte soon, and hopefully you'll be able to come and hang out with us in the motorhomes when you aren't busy. Bye Julia it was great to meet you be safe heading back. 

Julia: Of course friends look out for each other. I would love to get to come hang out with y'all and maybe that could help me with the articles and reports that I will be writing anyways. Bye Ryan it was so nice getting to meet you and thank you I will.

//Julia's POV// 

Today has been such a great day and I am so thankful for this job opportunity from both Kate and the Speedway. Kim, Chuck, and Ryan were so sweet and welcoming to me and they really made me feel right at home. I can't believe I also had an on air conversation with the one and only cutie himself Chase Elliott, and that he asked for my phone number. I am so lucky and can't wait for him to text me (fingers crossed). After getting back on the interstate I began to head back  to Charlotte, while driving I decided to call my mom and go ahead and tell her about what all happened. I can't wait for my parents to watch the podcast. 

*** Phone conversation*** 

Julia: Hey Mom I am back on the interstate now and heading back to Charlotte. I think that the podcast went great this morning. 

Nina: Hey babe, oh that is so exciting to hear. Your father and I can't wait to watch it and then be able to share the link with everyone on our Facebook pages so they can see. Did you get to meet anyone or talk to anyone exciting? 

Julia: Yeah I am super excited about it also. I got to meet the hosts of the podcast one of those being the NASCAR driver Ryan Blaney himself and then on the phone we got to talk to that cutie Chase Elliott! 

Nina: I definitely know that you were most likely freaking out on the inside am I right? What all did y'all talk about and will you be seeing them again soon? 

Julia: Yes I definitely was freaking out in my head haha. We talked about everything really from race predictions to new movie releases and conspiracy theories. They also talked about me being from Georgia which is also Chase's home state, so of course Chase then asked if I was a Dawgs fan or a Jackets fan. I am hopefully going to meet up with them when they get to the track in a few weeks. 

Nina: Ooh... I hope that you do get to meet up with them. Maybe you and Chase will get the chance to meet formally and then become friends or maybe even more than friends if you know what I mean. 

Julia: Oh my gosh of course I know what you meant. That is only every girls dream right. Well I just got off at my exit, I'm gonna meet up with Sarah for lunch and then I'm heading back to either the Speedway or my apartment to go ahead and start working on my reports about my experiences that I had at MRN. Bye Mom I love you and Dad so much! I'll talk to y'all later on.

I pulled up to Five Guys where I was meeting Sarah for lunch. She got out of her Chevrolet Impala and met me in front of my car before we walked into the restaurant. We ordered our food and I then began to tell her about my first day yesterday and about my fun road trip to Moorseville this morning. We ate and then I told her the news that the NASCAR driver that I had a huge crush on had asked me for my number after the show had ended earlier. She proceeded to tell me that "Chase was probably into me already even though we haven't met face to face yet, but she bets that it would be soon." She also hopes that maybe Chase and I would become a couple so her and Christian could double date with us. We talked some more before I had to leave and go back to the Speedway to check in with Kate on what was going on and how today at MRN went.
